Start by capping frame rate at a level your device can sustain, change one setting at a time, and compare in the same demanding location or combat scene.
How to choose the best settings for Wuthering Waves
A high peak frame rate is less useful than consistent frame pacing. Choose a cap your PC or phone can hold in the situations where performance usually dips; an uncapped target is not a free performance boost. Then adjust settings according to the symptom you see.
- Low frame rate or heavy GPU load: lower the most expensive visual settings first.
- Stuttering while exploring or textures appearing late: check storage speed and memory pressure, not just graphics quality.
- Performance falling during a long mobile session: reduce the load and let the device cool; heat can lead to throttling.
- Blurry graphics or distracting ghosting: revisit internal resolution, anti-aliasing, and sharpness.
Make one change, revisit the same demanding scene, and compare. This makes it easier to tell whether an adjustment helped instead of trading clarity or latency without solving the actual bottleneck.
Wuthering Waves PC settings: a balanced starting point
On PC, begin at your display’s native resolution and choose a sustainable frame-rate cap. If GPU load is high or frame rate is low, reduce shadows and render distance first; then try lowering post-processing or other effects. Reduce resolution or use an upscaling option only if needed, since a lower internal resolution can make the image look softer.

A cross-platform settings guide updated April 20, 2026, for version 3.2 recommends medium shadows and Far rather than Farthest render distance as a mid-range starting point, with low post-processing and high textures only when VRAM allows. It identifies Farthest render distance as costly to the GPU. These are guide recommendations, not controlled benchmarks, so your results may differ by hardware and scene. The guide estimates that moving from Ultra to Medium shadows can save about 10–15% of the frame budget on mid-range hardware; that is the guide author’s estimate, not an independently verified result. Balance image clarity against performance
Keep native display resolution if the game runs acceptably. If you need more performance, try supported upscaling or a lower internal resolution and check whether the softer image is an acceptable trade-off. For anti-aliasing, the guide describes TAA as smoother in motion but potentially prone to ghosting on fine details, while FXAA may leave more jagged edges. If the picture looks soft or trails in motion, compare the available options and adjust sharpness modestly.

Tune V-Sync and frame pacing to your display
V-Sync is not a universal fix. Whether to use it depends on your display, frame pacing, and latency preference. A manual frame cap can help target a consistent rate, but compare results with your actual display setup rather than assuming that V-Sync off is always better.
How to fix lag in Wuthering Waves on PC
- Check the basics. Confirm the current game version, available storage, and PC hardware against the live Steam Support listing for Wuthering Waves. Its current requirements call for Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 12, and 150 GB of available storage. Minimum specifications include an Intel Core i5 (9th generation) or Ryzen 2700, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1060, RX 570, or Intel Arc A380. The recommended configuration lists an Intel Core i7 (9th generation) or Ryzen 3700, 32 GB RAM, and an RTX 2060, RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A750. The listing says, “HDD Supported, SSD Recommended” for minimum requirements; its recommended configuration requires an SSD. Requirements can change, and meeting them is a baseline—not a promise of smooth performance at every setting or in every scene.
- Set a sustainable cap. Choose a frame-rate limit your system can hold during the scenes that cause drops, rather than pursuing an uncapped peak.
- Lower one demanding setting at a time. Try shadows first, then render distance, then post-processing or other effects. Revisit the same scene after each change.
- Check asset streaming if traversal stutters. If stuttering happens while moving through the world or textures pop in late, check whether the game is installed on an HDD. Steam recommends SSD storage, and the settings guide links slow HDD streaming with pop-in and micro-stutters. An SSD may help with storage-related streaming symptoms; it does not guarantee higher rendering FPS or fix network lag. Close memory-heavy background apps, and lower texture quality if VRAM is constrained.
For this specific symptom, check your drive type, capacity, interface, and device compatibility before choosing an internal SSD. A graphics preset alone may not resolve slow asset loading.

Wuthering Waves settings for Android and iOS
Use the options actually available on your device. The April 2026 guide says High Quality is limited to certain newer processors and devices, and discusses Vulkan on Android and frame generation where supported. Availability and behavior can vary, so do not assume a feature will appear or improve performance on every phone.
Prioritize stable play and manageable heat
For a longer session, prioritize consistent response and temperature over peak visual quality. A 60 FPS cap is a reasonable starting point to test; the guide suggests 120 FPS only for qualifying hardware with adequate cooling. These are secondary-guide suggestions, not guarantees of sustained performance. If the phone heats up or frame rate declines over time, lower effects or overall quality, reduce brightness if practical, and let the device cool in a cooler environment. Heat can reduce operating clocks and contribute to performance loss. A clip-on cooler is an optional measure, not a requirement, and no particular accessory is established as a fix.

- Stutter and texture pop-in during exploration on PC: investigate HDD streaming, available storage, and VRAM pressure. Close memory-heavy apps or lower texture quality if VRAM is constrained.
- Frame rate drops after playing on a phone for a while: suspect heat-related throttling; reduce effects or quality, lower the cap, and allow the phone to cool.
