What’s actually slowing this PC down?

For a continuous YouTube feed built from podcast episodes, StreamNeo is the simplest fit in this comparison: upload recordings, add your YouTube stream key, and let the cloud loop them. It supports uploaded-video playback up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with the first day free. Restream is the clearest documented choice for playlist-style YouTube events, but its documentation does not establish nonstop reliability or looping. For separate episodes scheduled to start at particular times, StreamYard documents an automatic prerecorded-stream workflow.
Those are different jobs: a continuous playlist stays live as episodes advance, while a scheduled prerecorded event starts one selected video at a chosen time. Pick the workflow before choosing software.
Which kind of podcast stream do you need?
- Continuous episode feed: Keep a single YouTube live stream running while a playlist advances through podcast recordings. StreamNeo is #1 for this use here: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a first day free.
- Scheduled individual episodes: Create separate live events that begin at set times. StreamYard documents automatic prerecorded streaming for this pattern.
- Operator-controlled event: Schedule a YouTube live event and send it through encoder software or hardware. This provides control over playback, but the operator must arrange and run the encoder workflow.
No service documentation cited here establishes a universal guarantee of uninterrupted 24/7 operation. For Restream in particular, the documented playlist mode is evidence of feature fit, not proof of looping, failover, queue capacity, or a full-duration run.
Best options by workflow
| Option | Best for | What the documentation establishes | What to verify or plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud playback of uploaded podcast episodes as an always-on YouTube feed | One always-on stream per slot; playlists and 24/7 looping; automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream; uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps without re-encoding; 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots. | It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. Check that episode files fit available pooled storage. |
| Restream | YouTube live events using a playlist or video file | Its YouTube event documentation lists Playlist as a streaming mode alongside Studio, RTMP, and Video File, and describes scheduling prerecorded video to stream live on YouTube. | The cited pages do not establish nonstop reliability, playlist looping, reconnect behavior, queue limits, or current plan eligibility. Confirm these directly before relying on it as a 24/7 station. |
| StreamYard prerecorded mode | Individual prerecorded episodes that should start automatically at scheduled times | Its help documentation says a scheduled prerecorded video starts at the selected time even if the account owner is offline. | The cited material does not show a continuously running episode playlist. The support article lists plan-dependent duration and concurrent scheduling limits; confirm current plan names and caps. |
| YouTube event plus encoder | Creators who want to control playback and playlist handling themselves | YouTube lets creators schedule a live event and connect encoder software or hardware using a stream URL and key. | You must arrange and operate the encoder and playback workflow, and check the event preview and stream quality. |
Restream: the clearest documented playlist mode
Restream is the strongest documented match in the reviewed product material for a playlist-based YouTube event. Its YouTube live-event flow offers Playlist, Studio, RTMP, and Video File modes, and its documentation describes scheduling prerecorded videos to stream live on YouTube. The official guides are How to schedule a YouTube live stream with Restream and How to schedule a pre-recorded live stream on YouTube.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Do not infer from “Playlist” that a stream automatically repeats forever or reliably reconnects after an interruption. Before committing a channel to it, check playlist ordering and end behavior, whether looping is available, queue and duration limits, reconnect handling, and whether the relevant feature is included in your current plan. The cited documentation does not settle those questions or establish current pricing.
StreamYard: schedule separate prerecorded episodes
StreamYard says, “You can automatically stream pre-recorded videos with StreamYard!” Its separate prerecorded mode is designed for a video to begin at a selected time even when the account owner is offline. That is useful for publishing a scheduled episode as a live event, but the cited help material does not establish continuous playlist playback.

Documented scheduling and duration limits
StreamYard’s undated Help Center article, accessed in 2026, lists a maximum advance scheduling window of 365 days and these limits. Because plan names and limits can change, check the current plan page and your account before scheduling a series.
| Plan name in the Help Center article | Maximum prerecorded video duration | Simultaneously scheduled prerecorded streams |
|---|---|---|
| Core | 2 hours | 5 |
| Advanced | 4 hours | 10 |
| Team | 8 hours | Unlimited |
| StreamYard Business | 8 hours | Unlimited |
These are limits stated by StreamYard’s support article, not a guarantee that the same plan labels or allowances remain available now. Its regular scheduled studio workflow is different: creating an event does not start the broadcast by itself; the operator must enter the studio and click Go Live. Use the prerecorded mode when the documented automatic start is what you need. See StreamYard’s Pre-recorded Streaming guide and Scheduling a Live Stream guide.

DIY route: schedule a YouTube event with an encoder
YouTube’s native encoder workflow suits creators who want to manage playback themselves. Schedule the event in YouTube, then connect encoder software or hardware with the event’s stream URL and key. YouTube’s official encoder guide explains the connection workflow.
- Prepare the episode material. Confirm that you have the files and playback order you intend to use. If you want multiple episodes to run continuously, set up that playlist behavior in your playback or encoder workflow; scheduling a YouTube event alone does not create an episode queue.
- Schedule the YouTube live event. In YouTube Studio, create and schedule a live stream, setting its title, start time, and audience visibility. Check the event’s access settings before sharing it.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from the YouTube event into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the broadcast.
- Configure playback and streaming output. Select the episode or playlist in your encoder workflow and use settings compatible with your source media and YouTube’s current live-stream guidance. Confirm the output format and audio/video are correct rather than assuming a preset matches every file.
- Check the preview before the event. Confirm YouTube receives the signal, the intended video and audio are present, and the event is accessible as intended. YouTube recommends checking preview and stream quality; its live encoder settings guide covers stream setup.
- Monitor the broadcast. Watch for a dropped encoder connection, muted or incorrect audio, black video, or an ended playlist. A scheduled event does not itself guarantee that the local encoder or playback source will keep running.
Protect episode rights and plan for replays
Copyright and music
YouTube’s livestream terms say, “The Live Content must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines.” They also make the creator responsible for obtaining necessary rights for livestream content, including music licensing rights. Confirm rights for the complete episode, guest contributions, intro and outro music, and any background beds before broadcasting. See YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions.

Automatic archives have a duration limit
YouTube Help says, “If your live stream is less than 12 hours, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If keeping a replay matters, do not rely on a continuous broadcast archive: maintain a separate recording or archive workflow, and verify the saved file after an event. See YouTube’s Archive live streams guidance.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Practical checks before you schedule a podcast feed
- Match the tool to the schedule. Use an automatic prerecorded event for separate episode start times; use a playlist-capable workflow for a feed that must continue from episode to episode.
- Test beyond the start of the event. Check what happens at the end of an episode, at the end of a playlist, and after a connection drop. A successful preview does not prove the playlist will continue indefinitely.
- Budget for video duration and concurrency. For StreamYard, compare each episode length and the number of events you will schedule at once with the limits listed in its current account. For Restream, verify the relevant limits directly because the cited guides do not specify them.
- Keep the stream key private. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the connected encoder or service.
- Check the archive separately. A long-running live stream may not produce a complete YouTube replay, so preserve source episodes and arrange separate recordings where needed.
- Review rights before setting a recurring schedule. A playlist can repeat material; make sure the rights cover each planned broadcast and any recurring use.
Or let it run in the cloud
For an always-on podcast channel, StreamNeo avoids leaving a home computer, encoder, or internet connection running. Upload your recordings or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud. It supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.
