For a Maelle who still fights in a party but needs less help staying alive, use Glaisum or Melarum and build around Virtuose stance with extra survivability. For a true lone-survivor damage challenge, use Medalum to start in Virtuose and pair it with Luminas that activate only when Maelle is fighting alone. The second setup can hit harder, but it is not a standard party build—and its glass-cannon variants can leave Maelle at 1 HP.
This is a synthesis of third-party build guides, not an official ranking or an independently tested build. The current guides cited below report checking their recommendations against patch 1.5.6 in August 2026; weapon access, skills, and Lumina capacity still depend on progression. FinalBoss.io’s Maelle guide and GamerHeadlines’ character-build roundup are the basis for the current setup advice.

Choose the build that matches your meaning of “solo”
“Solo” can mean either a self-sufficient character in a normal party or a character fighting without allies. Those goals call for different weapons and passives: healing and cleansing help Maelle operate with fewer support turns, while solo-trigger bonuses require her to be alone.
| Build goal | Weapon direction | Core benefit | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Self-sufficient Maelle in a party | Glaisum or Melarum | Stance-linked healing or cleansing reduces reliance on ally turns. | Less focused on maximum single-hit damage; Maelle can still benefit from party support. |
| Literal lone-survivor challenge | Medalum with solo-trigger Luminas | Starts Maelle in Virtuose and supports solo damage, critical-hit bonuses, and Stendhal burst potential. | Solo bonuses require Maelle to be alone; high-risk setups may leave her at 1 HP. |
How Maelle’s stance shapes the build
Maelle’s damage and defenses depend on her current stance, so the skill bar needs to support the stance you want rather than just collect powerful-looking attacks. FinalBoss.io’s guide describes Virtuose as a major damage stance, reporting +200% damage dealt, and Defensive stance as a protection-focused alternative that grants AP on a successful dodge or parry. These are guide-reported game mechanics, not independently tested figures.

Skills can change Maelle’s stance. A stance-changing skill may therefore undo your setup if used at the wrong time. Keep an eye on the stance after each action, and include a way to recover if the fight pushes Maelle out of the state her damage plan needs.
Self-sufficient party build: Glaisum or Melarum
Choose a weapon for the kind of recovery you need
Glaisum ties healing and status cleansing to entering Virtuose. Melarum also provides healing and has a low-health Virtuose safety feature. Choose between them based on the recovery effect that fits your current progression and on which weapon you can upgrade; the available guides do not establish one as universally best for every encounter.

Build a flexible skill bar
Use a stance-aware kit with a Burn applicator, a dependable damage skill, and the stance-switching or recovery tools Maelle needs to stay functional. Stendhal can serve as a high-cost finisher when you have unlocked it and can afford its AP cost. There is no single exact six-skill package established for every level and encounter, so favor skills that work with your weapon, unlocks, and intended stance rather than copying an endgame bar wholesale.
Set attributes around your weapon and survival needs
Prioritize the scaling of the weapon you have equipped, then favor Agility for more turns while retaining enough Vitality or Defense to survive missed reactions. Exact allocations change with level and weapon; an endgame stat spread is not a reliable template for an earlier playthrough. GamerHeadlines’ current build guide also cautions against fixed attribute copies and loading a bar with six expensive skills.

Use Pictos and Luminas for the loop, not just damage
Prioritize survival, AP economy, and passives that support your weapon and stance loop. You can equip three Pictos. An equipped Picto provides its stats and passive; after four victories with it equipped on an active combatant, its passive can be learned as a Lumina. A learned Lumina can be enabled on characters with enough Lumina Point capacity, but grants the passive only—not the Picto’s stat bonuses. Fullclear’s Pictos and Luminas guide explains this distinction.
Literal solo-combat build: Medalum and solo-trigger Luminas
Use Medalum to open in Virtuose
Medalum is the burst-oriented weapon direction because its passive starts Maelle in Virtuose, supporting a Burn plan and a Stendhal finisher. BrokenBuilds’ June 2026 endgame roundup also identifies Painted Power as the unlock for damage beyond the standard 9,999 cap in its endgame Stendhal setup. Treat that as an endgame consideration, not a requirement for ordinary progression.

Equip only bonuses that match an actual solo fight
Solo Fighter increases damage while fighting alone, and Last Stand Critical grants critical chance while alone. Other Last Stand effects can add Rush, Powerful, or Shell. These effects are not ordinary three-person-party bonuses: they make sense only when the character is actually fighting alone. An older community setup activates them by having allies self-destruct, an intentionally extreme approach rather than a general recommendation. See the Steam Community guide for solo-build examples.
Treat Last Chance as a high-risk burst option
A one-shot setup described by Raider King’s May 2025 guide uses Last Chance to drop Maelle to 1 HP and refill AP, then spends that AP on Stendhal. That is a glass-cannon tactic, not a safe general-purpose rotation: a single enemy hit can end the attempt. The guide predates the current patch 1.5.6 build guides, so its numerical optimization should not be assumed to remain current.

What to avoid when adapting a build
- Do not treat “solo” Luminas as general party passives. Their bonuses depend on the character fighting alone.
- Do not copy endgame attributes into an early save. Match stats to your current weapon scaling, level, and ability to survive mistakes.
- Do not fill every slot with an expensive skill. AP economy and a way to recover from a failed stance setup matter as much as peak damage.
- Do not assume one skill bar works for every encounter. Weapon access, skill unlocks, Lumina capacity, and enemy demands change through progression.
Which version should you use?
For ordinary play, choose Glaisum or Melarum, preserve enough Vitality or Defense to survive errors, and build a stance-aware bar around the weapon you can currently support. For a deliberate lone-survivor challenge, choose Medalum and solo-trigger Luminas; add Last Chance only if you accept the risk of ending the attempt at 1 HP. The current guides support these as different answers to different meanings of “solo,” rather than one best setup for every player.
