The clearest starting points are to build around the damage pattern your hero can reliably deliver, choose Powers that reinforce that kit, and adapt Items to the match. In Mobalytics’ October 7, 2026 tier snapshot, Ashe, Junkrat, Freja, and Cassidy lead the Damage roster; the ranking is a third-party meta assessment, not an official recommendation.
How Stadium Powers work
Blizzard’s Enter the Stadium – Keys to Victory guide says each hero has 12 Powers. You choose one before rounds 1, 3, 5, and 7, so a match that reaches round seven can give you four Power choices. Powers modify a hero’s kit, making the best pick dependent on what you want that hero to do and how the match is developing.
Items are a separate layer of upgrades. Blizzard describes them as adaptable purchases that can be sold for the same Stadium Cash spent. Cash is earned after rounds and varies with performance, including damage, healing, assists, and eliminations. That means an opening build need not remain the right one: use the scoreboard to inspect opponents’ Powers and Items, then adjust your purchases and approach.
Damage tier snapshot: October 7, 2026
Mobalytics’ ranking places the 13 Damage heroes listed in SeeMeta’s Powers reference into these tiers. Treat it as a dated publisher’s view of the meta, not a guarantee of performance or a Blizzard-endorsed ranking.

|---|---|
| Top | Ashe, Junkrat, Freja, Cassidy |
| High | Soldier: 76, Tracer, Sojourn |
| Mid | Torbjörn, Vendetta, Pharah, Mei |
| Low | Genji, Reaper |
Mobalytics bases its broader assessment on early Stadium Cash generation, how Powers and Items scale in later rounds, and the quick fights encouraged by short rounds and small maps. It emphasizes burst damage among strong Damage builds, while calling out Ashe’s Dynamite as a consistent damage and economy tool and spam-damage builds for Junkrat and Freja. These are strategic observations, not proof that one exact sequence wins every matchup.
Strongest documented starting directions
Ashe: build around Dynamite and burn follow-up
Mobalytics identifies Dynamite as a reliable source of damage and economy. The SeeMeta Powers reference lists options that improve follow-up against burning targets, increase Dynamite’s area damage, or strengthen Coach Gun. A burn- and Dynamite-centered approach is therefore a reasonable starting direction; the evidence does not establish an optimal order for selecting those Powers.

Junkrat and Freja: sustained area pressure
Mobalytics specifically points to spam-damage builds for both heroes. Favor pressure and area damage when that style fits your aim, positioning, and the enemy team. The available evidence supports this direction, but not a universally best four-Power sequence for either hero.
Cassidy: consider weapon-focused Items
Blizzard cites Cassidy as an example of a hero whose gameplay is weapon-focused when discussing Item choices, and Mobalytics places him in its top tier. Weapon-oriented Items are a sensible option to consider; check the opposing builds and change purchases when another response is more useful. Neither source verifies a fixed Cassidy Power sequence.

Soldier: 76: Blizzard’s Biotic Field example
Blizzard gives a concrete example that combines Sprint and Biotic Field Powers: Track and Field, On Me!, Back Off, and Frontliners turn Biotic Field into an area-damage tool. Its suggested Item pairings are Compression Fatigues and Rapid Response Radius. This is Blizzard’s illustrative strategy, not a universal prescription or a newly tested meta build.
Choosing Powers for the rest of the Damage roster
SeeMeta lists Powers for each of these heroes, but an effect list alone cannot establish which combination is best. For Genji, Mei, Pharah, Reaper, Sojourn, Torbjörn, Tracer, and Vendetta, choose effects that amplify the part of the kit you can use consistently rather than copying an unsupported sequence. A mobility effect, weapon upgrade, or ability-focused Power is only valuable when it supports your approach and the match calls for it.

That distinction matters even for heroes ranked highly: a tier position describes an overall meta assessment, not the best choice for every player or opponent. Conversely, a lower-tier hero may still be the right pick when its kit and your execution suit the map and fight.
A practical way to compare Power choices
- Identify the damage pattern. Decide whether you need burst for an elimination, sustained pressure, or area damage to contest space. Mobalytics’ snapshot favors burst overall and highlights spam pressure for Junkrat and Freja.
- Choose for kit synergy. Prefer a Power that improves a weapon, ability, or mobility tool you already use reliably. Blizzard’s general guidance is to select complementary effects.
- Think about timing and scaling. Consider how quickly the choice can help you generate value and whether it remains useful in later rounds, when Stadium Cash has accumulated and builds have grown.
- Inspect the opposing builds. Use the scoreboard between rounds, then adapt Items and your tactics to the Powers and Items the other team has bought.
- Account for execution. A skill-dependent option may have less practical value if you cannot land its attacks consistently. That is a playstyle consideration, not a measured ranking statistic.
Why the recommendations can change
The meta ranking above is dated October 7, 2026, and SeeMeta’s Powers reference was last updated October 6, 2026. PC Gamer reported on July 15, 2026, that Blizzard would stop adding Stadium heroes and maps while continuing seasonal balance updates, rank resets, and rewards. Since balance changes can alter hero effects and relative value, treat this snapshot as a point-in-time guide rather than a permanent tier list.
