Train Hot☆Summer Night Maruzensky as a Front Runner, but choose her target distance and game mode before settling on stats, skills, or support cards. Mile builds can invest less in Stamina than Medium builds; card lineups and stat targets are guide recommendations, not a universal best setup.
Choose the race and distance before setting targets
Her clearest fit in the available character-specific guidance is Turf Mile as a Front Runner. Medium is also an option, but it calls for more Stamina and may benefit from recovery skills. In either case, check her inherited aptitude and the target course, then choose a build that can meet the race’s demands. These recommendations are unofficial rather than guarantees of performance.
For Mile Front Runner races, the plan is to secure an early position, keep pace, and have enough acceleration to finish. For Medium, add Stamina and consider recovery coverage if the build needs it. The skill’s activation conditions and course fit matter as much as its name.
Stat targets: use a distance- and mode-specific plan
The figures below are recommendations from two unofficial 2026 guides. They reflect different modes, scenarios, and assumptions, so they should not be blended into a single target. Treat them as planning ranges, then adjust for the course, scenario, support-card pool, and whether you can reliably activate recovery.

How to interpret the targets
- Speed is a leading priority across the cited Front Runner plans, but high Speed alone does not replace the Stamina needed for the chosen distance.
- Stamina is the main Mile-versus-Medium trade-off in these recommendations. The lower Medium range assumes reliable recovery; do not use it if your recovery coverage or activation is uncertain.
- Power supports the build’s ability to compete for position and accelerate. The Mile recommendation assigns it a substantial target.
- Wit (Wisdom) targets vary notably: the Team Trials plan recommends 1000, while the distance-based ranges are lower. Do not treat the figures as directly comparable because the modes and assumptions differ.
- Guts is included in both sets of targets, but neither guide establishes one universally correct threshold.
The Global Reference support-card guide is explicitly PvP-focused and says Career is easier; it also describes a +400 all-stat scenario boost. Keep its broad stat-priority discussion within that PvP context rather than applying it as a general career target. Umamusume Global Reference: Support Card Builds
Skills for a Front Runner
Build around three jobs: get into position early, maintain speed through the race, and turn the lead into a strong finish. The listed skills are examples from an unofficial guide, not a claim that all should be equipped. Check the actual skill description and the target race’s distance and course conditions before spending skill points.

- Start and positioning: Focus/Concentration and Front Runner are named recommendations. Prioritize effects that help the opening phase and suit a Front Runner plan.
- Speed over the course: Fast-Paced, Runner Corners, Runner Straightaways, Mile Corners, and Mile Straightaways are listed examples. Favor distance-compatible skills whose conditions match the race layout.
- Late acceleration: Shifting Gear is named as an acceleration example. Acceleration is most useful when its activation timing and conditions can help convert an established position into a finish.
- Recovery: Recovery is less urgent in the cited Mile plan and more relevant for Medium or a build short on Stamina. Game8’s Team Trials recommendation says gold recovery is not required for its target, while noting that at least one recovery skill helps activate Maruzensky’s unique skill. That is specific to the guide’s target, not a universal rule.
Support-card decks: build around the target
Use card slots to reach the chosen stat plan and obtain useful skill hints. The two character-specific guides recommend different deck structures, so treat these as starting templates rather than fixed best-in-slot lineups.
| Build context | Suggested deck structure | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Trackblazer | 2 Speed + 3 Wit + 1 Race Bonus filler | Game8 indexed excerpt, guide last updated April 6, 2026; recommends at least 50% deck Race Bonus. |
| Mile | 3 Speed + 2 Wisdom + 1 Flex | Position: Everything guide, published May 20, 2026. |
| Medium | 3 Speed + 1 Stamina + 1 Wisdom + 1 Flex | Position: Everything guide, published May 20, 2026. |
Choose cards by the job they do
- Speed cards support the leading stat priority in the cited builds.
- Wit cards help support a Wit-heavy plan and provide relevant skill hints.
- Power cards can help address a Power shortfall or support a plan that needs more position and acceleration.
- Stamina cards become more attractive as distance increases or when recovery coverage is not dependable.
- Flex cards can fill a stat weakness, add useful skill hints, or improve Race Bonus where that matters to the scenario.
The Position: Everything guide names Vodka as a Power-focused example, El Condor Pasa as flexible pace support, Fine Motion and Nice Nature for Wisdom roles, and Super Creek or Manhattan Cafe for Stamina coverage. These are examples from that guide, not a current universal tier ranking. Compare the cards you own by level, uncaps, training bonuses, Race Bonus, and the skill hints they can provide.

Putting the build together
- Choose the mode or event. A Team Trials target, a Trackblazer run, and a PvP-oriented plan do not imply the same deck or stat priorities.
- Choose the distance and course. Start with Mile or Medium, verify aptitude, and check whether your planned skills can activate on the course.
- Pick one matching target set. Use the Mile or Medium ranges as a guide, or the Team Trials target when that is your specific goal. Do not average the figures across guides.
- Build the deck to close the gaps. Use the relevant template as a starting point, then adapt it to your cards’ levels, bonuses, skill hints, and Race Bonus needs.
- Review skill conditions and recovery needs. Select skills that fit the race and build; for Medium, or when Stamina is low, assess whether recovery is dependable before relying on the lower Stamina range.
