There is no evidence-based single winner among Street Fighter 6’s Zangief, E. Honda, and Dhalsim costumes. Capcom’s official announcements establish Outfit 3 as a paid costume collection, but they do not provide enough character-by-character visual detail to rank these three designs objectively. The fairest answer is taste-based: compare each outfit’s silhouette change, its fit with the fighter’s identity, and whether you prefer a classic, humorous, or dramatic presentation. Confirm the current previews in your copy of the game before buying, because storefront listings, regional pricing, and the appearance of individual outfits can change.
What “best” means for these three Street Fighter 6 costumes
“Best” is a styling judgment, not a gameplay statistic. Costumes do not establish a universal competitive advantage, so the useful comparison is visual and practical. For Zangief, E. Honda, and Dhalsim, judge four things:
| # | Preview | Product | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Axis | Question to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Visual distinction | How much does the costume change the fighter’s default silhouette? | A major change is easier to notice in matches, replays, screenshots, and character-select screens. |
| Character fit | Does the design feel compatible with the fighter’s established personality and fighting identity? | A costume can be striking yet feel out of place, or familiar yet perfectly suited. |
| Tone | Does it read as classic, playful, or dramatic? | The right tone depends on whether you want continuity, humor, or a more serious presentation. |
| Value | Are you judging appearance only, or also the price and access route? | A preferred design may not be worth buying separately if you already own a pass that includes it. |
Capcom’s official announcements describe Outfit 3 at the collection level. Capcom says the designs draw on illustrations in the game, different cultures, and humor, but those announcements do not document a definitive winner for any one of these three characters. The recommendations below therefore tell you how to make a defensible choice rather than pretending that an unsupported ranking is fact.

Release scope
Capcom announced Outfit 3 for all 18 characters in the launch roster, with release on December 1, 2023. The announcement is collection-level information; it does not constitute a character-by-character design review. You can read the original release notice from Capcom Japan.
#1 Best Overall
- Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
- Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
- Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
- In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
Historical standalone price
Capcom France reported in December 2023 that each original-cast Outfit 3 cost 300 Fighter Coins and included ten colors. That is a release-era figure, not a verified October 2026 price. Treat it as historical context only and check the live store attached to your platform before purchasing. The dated report is available at Capcom France.
World Tour limitation
The same 2023 Capcom France report said Outfit 3 could not be unlocked through World Tour mode. Completing World Tour should not be treated as a substitute for purchasing or receiving the costume through an eligible pass.
Pass access and the base game
Capcom Town Store’s June 29, 2026 announcement says an Ultimate Pass includes Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes together with the associated Character Pass content. You must own Street Fighter 6 separately to use those passes. A physical base-game copy is therefore a prerequisite product for someone who does not yet own the game; it is not evidence that the DLC costumes are included in the box. See the pass announcement at Capcom Town Store.

Zangief: choose the costume that preserves power or changes the outline
Silhouette test
For Zangief, begin by comparing the Outfit 3 preview with his default appearance at the same camera distance. Look at the outer contour around the shoulders, torso, arms, legs, and head rather than judging only colors or surface decoration. A costume earns a “high distinction” result if you can identify the change in a small character-select thumbnail or in a busy match. If the outline remains close to default, classify it as a refinement rather than a transformation.
Character-fit test
Ask whether the design reinforces the traits you associate with Zangief’s wrestling identity: physical presence, theatrical confidence, and a sense that the costume belongs to a larger-than-life grappler. This is a compatibility test, not a claim that one particular Outfit 3 detail is officially canonical. If the preview emphasizes those qualities, rate it highly for fit; if it makes the fighter feel like a different role entirely, rate it lower even if you enjoy the novelty.
Tone test
- Classic: prefer the option whose shapes and presentation remain closest to the established fighter.
- Humorous: prefer the option that makes the character’s theatrical side more obvious without obscuring the silhouette.
- Dramatic: prefer the option with the strongest visual departure when viewed in battle, replays, and versus screens.
Capcom’s announcements do not supply a Zangief-specific visual breakdown, so no objective winner can be established for his Outfit 3. Your winner is the version that scores highest on the silhouette, fit, and tone tests after you inspect the current in-game preview.
E. Honda: weigh tradition against a more playful presentation
Silhouette test
Compare E. Honda’s default and alternate outlines at three scales: the character-select portrait, the full-body versus screen, and an ordinary match view. Check whether the costume changes the apparent width of the body, the shape of the shoulders and legs, and the visual rhythm of movement. This avoids overvaluing a small color or pattern change that disappears during play.

Character-fit test
For E. Honda, judge whether the outfit still communicates the fighter’s sumo-based identity and recognizable personality. A strong fit should make sense alongside his established moves, stance, and presentation rather than feeling like unrelated streetwear or a generic formal costume. The criterion is about coherence: the design can be traditional, comic, or stylized as long as it remains legible as E. Honda.
Tone test
Readers who want a classic look should favor continuity with the familiar sumo presentation. Readers who enjoy Capcom’s stated use of humor may prefer a more playful interpretation. A dramatic choice works when the costume gives the character a noticeably different mood without making his identity difficult to read. Record your preference before looking at price so the commercial route does not decide the artistic question for you.
Capcom’s announcements do not identify an E. Honda winner or describe the individual Outfit 3 components in enough detail to support one. Treat any final ranking as your personal result from the current preview, not as a universal fact.
Dhalsim: test readability, identity, and mood
Silhouette test
Dhalsim’s long-range attacks make screen readability especially important. Compare the default and alternate outfits during idle animation, a normal round, and a replay. Look for whether the costume creates a clearly different vertical outline and whether extended limbs remain easy to follow against common stages. A design can be visually distinctive in a static portrait yet less useful to you if its shapes blend into the background during play.
Character-fit test
Evaluate whether the costume remains compatible with Dhalsim’s established yoga-based fighting identity, calm presentation, and unusual range. The best fit is not necessarily the most conservative one; it is the one that preserves those associations while giving you the visual change you want. If a preview makes the character difficult for you to identify at a glance, mark down its fit even if the design is imaginative.
Tone test
Choose a classic tone when you want Dhalsim to look continuous with his familiar image. Choose a humorous tone when the design’s oddness is part of the appeal. Choose a dramatic tone when the costume changes the atmosphere of your matches and screenshots. Since the available official descriptions do not isolate Dhalsim’s individual design, do not present one of these tones as Capcom’s declared intent for him.

- Open the current costume preview. Use the character or costume-preview screen available in your version of Street Fighter 6. Confirm that you are looking at Outfit 3 for the correct fighter, not a color variation or a different outfit.
- Check the silhouette at thumbnail size. Reduce the preview mentally or view the character-select portrait. Write down whether the outline is barely changed, moderately changed, or radically changed.
- Watch an actual round. Inspect idle, movement, attacks, knockdown, and victory animation. Note whether the new shapes remain readable during play.
- Score character fit. Rate from one to five how naturally the design supports the fighter’s established personality and fighting identity.
- Choose your tone. Mark classic, humorous, or dramatic before checking the price. This prevents a discount or pass bundle from disguising a costume you do not actually like.
- Check access and price last. Compare the live standalone listing with any pass you already own. Remember that the 300-Fighter-Coin figure is historical, not a current guarantee.
| Score | Visual distinction | Character fit | Tone match |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Almost indistinguishable from default | Feels inconsistent with the fighter | Not the mood you want |
| 3 | Noticeable but moderate change | Works with some reservations | Acceptable compromise |
| 5 | Clearly different silhouette | Strongly reinforces the fighter | Exactly classic, humorous, or dramatic for your taste |
Add the three scores for each character. If two fighters tie, use value as the tiebreaker only after confirming what your account already owns. This produces a transparent personal ranking without claiming that Capcom has designated a winner.

Buying decisions and common mistakes
Do not treat a 2023 price as a live quote
The 300-Fighter-Coin amount and ten included colors come from a December 2023 report. Currency bundles, regional stores, taxes, promotions, and product listings can change. Verify the checkout screen for your platform and region immediately before purchase.
Do not assume a pass is the same as a base game
The June 2026 Capcom Town Store announcement explicitly says the base game must be purchased separately to use the Ultimate Pass content. A pass is downloadable content; it is not a replacement for owning Street Fighter 6.
Do not expect World Tour to unlock Outfit 3
Capcom France’s release information said Outfit 3 could not be unlocked through World Tour. If your goal is one of these three costumes, check the store or an eligible pass rather than spending time seeking a progression unlock that Capcom France’s stated policy excludes.
Do not infer inclusion from a physical package
A physical Street Fighter 6 copy can satisfy the base-game requirement, but the pass announcement does not say that a disc or cartridge includes Outfit 3. Read the package contents and your platform’s entitlement details separately.
Do not confuse colors with separate designs
Ten colors were reported as included with each original-cast Outfit 3 in 2023. Count the outfit itself once, then evaluate its available colors as variations; a color change alone should not be mistaken for a second costume in your ranking.

If you want an honest recommendation, select the fighter whose current Outfit 3 preview gives you the strongest combination of silhouette change, identity fit, and preferred tone. There is no supported basis for declaring Zangief, E. Honda, or Dhalsim the universal winner from the official collection-level information available. Use the three character sections and scoring sheet to make a ranking that reflects your taste, then verify the live price or pass entitlement before spending Fighter Coins.
