For Android, consider the compact Lenovo Legion Tab or a Galaxy Tab Ultra for a large-screen setup—but verify the exact model and its Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) frame-rate options before buying.
A tablet’s advertised 120Hz or 144Hz screen does not guarantee that CODM will offer or sustain 120 or 144 frames per second. Your practical choice depends on the game’s device support, the tablet’s sustained performance, your preferred screen size and how you play.
Which tablet should you buy for COD Mobile?
| Pick | Model | Best for | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best overall | 11-inch iPad Pro with M5 | Players who want a premium, high-refresh tablet in a manageable size | High price; check CODM’s current options on the device |
| Best value iPad | iPad Air with M4 | Players who want strong general performance for less than an iPad Pro | Lower display refresh rate than the Pro |
| Best compact Android | Lenovo Legion Tab, exact generation to be confirmed | Players who want a small, gaming-focused Android tablet | Generation, regional availability, software support and CODM modes need checking |
| Best large-screen Android | Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or the current successor | Desk or stand-based play, large HUDs, media and multitasking | Large size can make handheld play tiring |
| Gaming-first alternative | RedMagic Astra | Buyers interested in a compact gaming-oriented Android tablet | Verify local stock, warranty, software support and CODM compatibility |

Why the 11-inch iPad Pro M5 is the best overall pick
The 11-inch iPad Pro combines a high-performance Apple chip, a high-refresh display and a size that is easier to manage in a touch-control layout than a very large tablet. It is the strongest default choice for players who want premium hardware and also expect to use the tablet for other demanding tasks.
That recommendation is not a guarantee of a particular CODM frame-rate setting. Activision’s compatibility guidance does not publish a universal FPS ranking for tablets, and game options can vary by device and software build. Check the current CODM graphics menu on the exact model if a particular mode is essential.
Who should buy it
- Players who value a premium display and performance headroom beyond CODM.
- Touch players looking for a larger HUD without moving to a 13- or 14-inch slate.
- People who already use Apple devices or want access to the wider iPad app and accessory ecosystem.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone buying mainly for CODM who would rather spend less on a tablet that meets their actual in-game needs.
- Players who need expandable storage; iPads do not offer microSD expansion, and external storage does not replace internal space for the game.
Apple lists 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB configurations for the M5 iPad Pro in the cited US buying page. A 256GB model is a more comfortable starting point than a low-capacity tablet for players who install large games, download optional CODM resources or record gameplay.
Best value iPad: iPad Air with M4
The M4 iPad Air is the value pick for players who want a capable general-purpose tablet and do not need the Pro’s premium display. CODM does not require a top-tier chip just to run, so a less expensive model can make more sense when the game is only one use among several.
The important trade-off is refresh rate: the Air’s display refreshes more slowly than the Pro’s. A faster processor does not guarantee the same CODM frame-rate options as an iPad Pro. If high-refresh competitive play is your priority, verify the available game settings on the exact Air model before buying.
Choose 11 inches for touch play; choose 13 inches for a larger view
The 11-inch Air is the more manageable default for handheld play. The 13-inch size suits players who want a more expansive HUD, play on a stand or also use the tablet for split-screen work and media. A larger panel also means greater reach across the screen and can be less comfortable to hold for long matches.
A refurbished previous-generation iPad Pro may be worth comparing if a high-refresh screen is important, but compare the exact model, battery condition, storage, warranty and return terms. No specific refurbished listing or price is established here.

Android tablets: choose by size and buying confidence
Compact gaming: Lenovo Legion Tab
The Legion Tab is a natural Android choice for players who prefer a compact gaming tablet over a large productivity slate. Lenovo reference material describes an 8.8-inch model with a 2.5K-class display, gaming software features and a high-end Snapdragon platform. Reference material can cover different generations, however, so identify the exact US model, chip and warranty before ordering. Lenovo Legion Tab reference specifications.

Do not assume that the refresh rate or processor specification unlocks a matching CODM mode.
Large-screen Android: Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or its current successor
Samsung describes the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra as having a 14.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That expansive screen suits stand-based gaming, a large custom HUD, media and multitasking. Its size is a drawback for handheld claw play: wider finger travel and more weight can increase fatigue. Check Samsung’s current US range to see whether a newer Ultra model has replaced the S10 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series.
Gaming-first alternative: RedMagic Astra
Secondary coverage describes the RedMagic Astra as a compact OLED gaming tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform. Treat it as an option to investigate, not a confirmed winner: local availability, configuration, warranty, software support and CODM’s supported frame-rate modes need verification. Lower-cost Android tablets
A recent Android tablet can be a reasonable casual-play choice if it has at least 6GB of RAM, adequate internal storage and a display you find comfortable. Check whether it has a 60Hz panel, whether it stays responsive in longer sessions and whether its software is current. A lower price can be sensible even if the tablet does not provide premium gaming features.

| Screen size | Where it works well | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Around 8.8 inches | Travel, handheld use and four- to six-finger touch layouts | Less space for large targets and HUD elements; heat is concentrated in a small chassis |
| Around 11 inches | A practical balance of visibility, portability and reach for many touch players | Still larger than a phone; fit depends on grip and HUD layout |
| 12.4–14.6 inches | Stand-based play, very large HUDs, spectating, media and productivity | More awkward to hold, wider finger travel and potentially more wrist or hand fatigue |
For a touch player, the best screen is not necessarily the biggest one. Consider how far your thumbs and fingers must travel from your chosen grip, and whether you play with the tablet supported on a stand or held in your hands.

- CODM compatibility and available frame-rate modes: confirm support and settings for the precise model and game version.
- Sustained performance: look for evidence from longer gaming sessions, not only short benchmark runs.
- Display and touch: consider refresh rate, panel response, touch accuracy and comfortable screen size together.
- Battery and heat: gaming runtime and heat depend on use; video-playback claims are not gaming-runtime results.
- Internal storage: allow room for the game, downloaded resources, updates and recordings.
- Wi-Fi stability: a stable connection often matters more at home than paying extra for cellular service.
- Audio, updates, price and warranty: account for headset needs, software support, local service and the full cost of the configuration.
Refresh rate is not FPS
Display refresh rate is how often the panel can refresh. Game frame-rate setting is what CODM makes available on that device. Sustained frame rate is what the tablet actually maintains during a session as heat, charging and busy scenes affect it. Touch sampling is another, separate input metric.
A high-refresh display is necessary for a high-frame-rate experience, but it is not proof that Call of Duty: Mobile will unlock or sustain the corresponding FPS mode. A 144Hz panel can still be limited to a lower game mode; a 120Hz tablet may offer a high-frame-rate option only with certain graphics settings.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsRAM, storage and processor
Activision’s published minimum is 2GB of RAM, but that is a compatibility threshold, not a sensible target for most new tablet purchases. As a buying recommendation, aim for at least 6GB of RAM; 8GB or more is useful if you multitask, stream or want more headroom over time. More RAM by itself does not establish a higher CODM frame rate.
Consider 128GB of internal storage a practical floor, and 256GB preferable if you download optional resources, keep other large games, record matches or store media offline. These are recommendations, not official game requirements; free-space needs change as the game and its optional assets change.
A current upper-midrange or flagship processor is a sensible starting point for a gaming-focused purchase, but the strongest chip is not automatically the best CODM value. If the game offers the same settings on two tablets, unused processing headroom may not change your match experience.
Cooling and connectivity
A larger body can provide more room for heat management, while some compact gaming tablets use additional thermal hardware. Neither shape nor processor name proves how a model performs after heat builds up; look for sustained tests of the exact device if that is a deciding factor.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
For home play, prioritize dependable Wi-Fi and a stable network. Cellular connectivity is useful when travelling, but 5G does not guarantee low latency if the connection is inconsistent. If a tablet is imported, verify Google Play access, regional firmware, cellular bands, charger compatibility, warranty and update timing.

What CODM officially requires—and what that does not tell you
Activision’s COD Mobile FAQ states minimum compatibility requirements of Android 6.0 or newer with at least 2GB RAM, or iOS 15.0 or newer with at least 2GB RAM. It lists the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for distribution. These minimums establish a baseline for compatibility, not what will provide smooth sustained play, a high-refresh display or enough free storage for optional downloads. Activision COD Mobile FAQ.
Activision says CODM does not support emulators. Do not treat an emulator as a workaround for choosing a tablet. Players who use a controller should consult Activision’s current support information for supported controllers and restrictions; controller compatibility can change and may affect how a player is matched. How to check a tablet before buying
- Identify the exact model: record the generation, screen size, chip, storage, Wi-Fi or cellular configuration and sales region. Reviewers’ results for a different model or region may not apply.
- Check official CODM compatibility: compare the tablet’s operating system with Activision’s published minimums and confirm the official app-store listing is available in your region.
- Look for current in-game settings: if a particular FPS mode matters, seek evidence from the exact tablet and current CODM build. A manufacturer’s screen specification is not enough.
- Assess sustained-use evidence: prefer a disclosed 30–60-minute gaming test that identifies game settings, FPS measurement, temperature and network conditions over a brief benchmark.
- Check storage and return terms: allow free space for downloads and updates, and confirm the seller’s return policy and local warranty in case the game’s options or ergonomics do not meet your needs.
Before committing to a tournament setup, check that event’s current rules separately. A tablet can run the game and still be disallowed under a particular event’s device, controller or peripheral rules.

Set up for consistent play
- Use a stable Wi-Fi connection and avoid large background downloads during matches.
- Turn off battery-saver or low-power modes when seeking consistent performance.
- Keep reasonable free storage instead of filling the tablet to capacity.
- Choose graphics and frame-rate settings for consistency, not just the highest visual preset.
- For long sessions, remove a thick case if it obstructs heat dissipation, keep the tablet out of direct sun and avoid charging in a hot environment.
- Set a large tablet on a stand if holding it causes fatigue; keep brightness at a comfortable level.
- Try your HUD and grip before committing to long sessions, and use a headset if positional audio is important to you.
Diagnose stutter, delay and missing settings
Different problems can feel like “lag,” but they have different causes. Local frame stutter is not the same as online delay; packet loss can make players teleport or actions fail, while thermal throttling can make performance worsen as a session goes on.
The expected FPS option is missing
- Update the tablet’s operating system and CODM from its official app store, then restart.
- Open the current in-game graphics and audio settings and check available frame-rate choices under different graphics presets.
- Confirm that battery-saving or low-power mode is off and that the tablet is not overheating.
- Do not infer a CODM mode from the tablet’s 120Hz or 144Hz display specification.
Game menu labels and available options can change between CODM versions. If the mode remains unavailable, treat that as the current device-and-game combination’s limit rather than assuming a setting is hidden.
Performance worsens during a session
- Check whether the tablet is hot, charging, enclosed in a case or exposed to sunlight.
- Close background downloads, reduce excessive brightness and confirm power-saving mode is disabled.
- Check free storage and test the network separately from local frame smoothness.
- Note whether the symptom is visual stutter, touch delay, high network latency or packet loss; replacing hardware may not fix a network problem.
The game is unavailable or will not install
Check the Apple App Store or Google Play region, operating-system version, free storage, and any parent or enterprise restrictions. Confirm that the tablet uses the expected regional firmware and official app store. A China-region or otherwise altered Android model may have different services or app availability; do not rely on unofficial sideloading as a standard fix.
Quick Recap
Pick by the way you play
- Competitive touch player: start with an 11-inch high-refresh iPad Pro or a compact Legion Tab, then choose by grip comfort and verified CODM modes.
- Casual or occasional player: the iPad Air or a good lower-cost Android tablet is more proportionate than paying Pro prices solely for CODM.
- Controller player: prioritize a comfortable setup, stable Bluetooth, battery life and a usable display, and check Activision’s current controller guidance.
- Desk-based or large-HUD player: consider a Galaxy Tab Ultra, understanding that a large screen is better supported by a stand than held for every match.
- Tournament player: consult the current event rulebook for its device and peripheral requirements rather than relying on old community claims.
