How to choose the right rebuild for you
Pick a challenge, not just a low overall
A team’s overall rating is only one part of the climb. Dynasty also involves program grades, recruiting, player development, roster retention, and Playing Style and Pro Potential. EA’s Dynasty materials describe these systems as part of program and roster management, so a low-rated team is not automatically the most enjoyable choice for every player.

Consider recruiting geography
Recruit proximity affects the cost of recruiting visits. In EA’s 2025 Dynasty deep dive, a nearby recruit’s visit could cost as little as 10 recruiting hours, while a cross-country visit could cost as much as 40. Think about roster retention and development
EA describes College Football 26 Dynasty’s transfer portal as expanded and less predictable, making retention a meaningful part of roster construction alongside recruiting. Progression and player archetypes also shape how a roster develops. Consider whether you want to manage that volatility and build players over time, rather than judging a rebuild only by its starting rating. Decide what kind of program you want to build
EA says Dynasty lets players choose among school-grade templates such as Powerhouse, Pro Factory, and Cupcake. The program being replaced affects the Championship Contender grade, too. Those options influence the identity and goals of your save, so weigh them alongside the roster you inherit and the challenge you want.
