There is no single best Unturned host for every server. For a small private group, choose the cheapest slot plan that leaves enough RAM for your map and mods. For a modded community, confirm Workshop, Rocket (LDM), OpenMod, and version support before paying. For a public server, compare the cost of adding slots and RAM, the nearest practical location, backups, support, and refund terms—not just the headline monthly price.
GTX Gaming’s published plan has the clearest itemized Unturned feature set, Nitrado offers transparent slot tiers and many displayed regions, and BisectHosting emphasizes worldwide locations and round-the-clock support. Pingperfect, Host Havoc, and Sparked Host are additional candidates named in a September 2026 iTechGuides comparison, but that ranking is not controlled performance testing.

Best Unturned hosts at a glance
| Best fit | Provider to investigate | Published evidence | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Itemized mod and backup requirements | GTX Gaming | From £6 per month for 20 slots; up to 5GB RAM, up to 100GB NVMe storage, Workshop maps and mods, Rocket (LDM), OpenMod, daily automatic backups, 19 locations, and a stated 24-hour refund guarantee. | Figures are provider-listed; RAM guidance is the host’s own estimate, not an independent benchmark. |
| Clear slot-price comparison | Nitrado | US-facing page lists 4 slots for $6.59, 10 for $16.19, and 20 for $24.99 per 30 days; displayed regions include Frankfurt, London, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney. Daily backups, DDoS protection, and mod/plugin support are advertised. | Prices and available regions depend on regional settings and can change. |
| Location choice and support | BisectHosting | Advertises 21 worldwide locations, free DDoS protection, NVMe SSD storage, and 24/7/365 support. | The page warns that some locations may be out of stock; verify stock before checkout. |
| Further comparison leads | Pingperfect, Host Havoc, Sparked Host | A September 2026 iTechGuides comparison ranked 13 providers, naming Pingperfect its top pick, Host Havoc runner-up, and Sparked Host the lowest paid price among its top ten. | The ranking discloses referral monetization and does not establish comparative uptime, latency, or modpack performance. |
Those are starting points, not guarantees. The provider pages establish advertised configurations, prices, locations, and features; they do not prove how a particular modpack will perform for your players.
How to choose an Unturned server plan
1. Buy for concurrent players, not the size of your Discord
Start with the number of people likely to connect at the same time. A server advertised for 20 slots is not automatically the right choice for a 20-person community if several players use heavy maps or plugins. Conversely, paying for a large slot count that is rarely occupied wastes money. Check whether the host lets you change slots later and whether an upgrade preserves your files and configuration.

- 3.5 Inch Hot Plug Hard Drive PowerEdge T340 Tower Server Chassis
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Standard Operating System
- Processors: Intel Xeon E-2124 Quad-Core 3.3GHz 8MB CPU, Up To 4.3GHz Turbo
- Memory: 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 PC4-21300 2666MHz Unbuffered Memory
- Hard Drive: 8TB (4 x 2TB) 7.2K RPM 6Gb/s SATA 3.5 Inch HDDs in RAID
Compare the price at the slot count you actually need. Entry prices are misleading when one provider’s cheapest tier has four slots and another begins at 20.
2. Treat RAM as a separate decision
Slots describe player capacity; RAM headroom depends on the map, plugins, Workshop content, and activity on the server. GTX Gaming’s guide lists up to 5GB of included RAM and publishes RAM guidance by player count, but that guidance is the provider’s estimate rather than a neutral test. Ask what RAM is included in the exact plan you are buying, what an upgrade costs, and whether RAM and slots can be changed independently.
3. Confirm the exact mod stack
“Mod support” is too broad to be a purchasing criterion. Write down the Workshop maps, Rocket (LDM) plugins, OpenMod packages, and game version you intend to run. Then ask the host whether those specific components are supported together and how updates are handled. A provider can advertise a framework without guaranteeing compatibility with every combination of maps and plugins.
4. Put the server near most players
Choose the datacenter that minimizes distance for the majority of your group, not the one with the most appealing name. Nitrado’s displayed list includes Frankfurt, London, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney; other hosts list different inventories. If a host supplies a ping test, run it from the regions where your players actually live. Datacenter names alone cannot establish a universal latency ranking.
5. Check recovery and support before you need them
Confirm the backup schedule, retention, and restore process. Daily automatic backups are advertised by GTX Gaming and Nitrado, but “daily” does not tell you how many restore points are retained or whether a restore overwrites current files. Ask those questions before installing a large modpack. Also check support hours and channels, migration assistance, and whether support can help with a failed update or a corrupted world.

6. Read refund and cancellation terms
GTX Gaming states a 24-hour refund guarantee. Treat that as a limited window to discover a configuration problem, not as proof of long-term reliability. Read the conditions, renewal timing, cancellation process, and treatment of custom setup work for every provider.

Provider details and trade-offs
GTX Gaming: the clearest published Unturned feature list
GTX Gaming’s Unturned guide, updated 8 October 2026, lists plans from £6 per month for 20 slots. The same guide says plans include up to 5GB of RAM and up to 100GB of NVMe storage, with support for Steam Workshop maps and mods, Rocket (LDM), and OpenMod. It lists daily automatic backups, 19 locations, and a stated 24-hour refund guarantee.
This combination makes GTX Gaming a practical first check for a group that needs to verify mod frameworks and backup availability in one place. The headline price is provider-listed in pounds and applies to the stated 20-slot starting plan; it is not directly comparable with a four-slot dollar plan. Confirm the exact RAM allocation, storage allocation, location, taxes, and upgrade price at checkout.
Do not interpret “up to 5GB” as a promise that every £6 plan includes 5GB. The wording indicates a ceiling across the plan range. Likewise, the provider’s player-count RAM guidance is useful for planning but is not an independently measured performance result.
Nitrado: simple slot tiers across many displayed regions
Nitrado’s US-facing Unturned page, accessed 13 October 2026, lists 4 slots for $6.59 per 30 days, 10 slots for $16.19 per 30 days, and 20 slots for $24.99 per 30 days. The page displays Frankfurt, London, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney among its locations. It also advertises daily backups, DDoS protection, and support for server mods and plugins.

The tiered prices make it easy to model a small private server against a 10- or 20-slot community. They are not a universal price list: the page is US-facing, uses 30-day billing, and can show different offers or availability under another regional setting. Check the currency, taxes, renewal amount, RAM allocation, and selected location in your own checkout flow.
BisectHosting: broad location coverage with a stock caveat
BisectHosting’s Unturned page advertises 21 worldwide locations, free DDoS protection, NVMe SSD storage, and 24/7/365 support. That combination is relevant when your deciding factors are a nearby region and access to support at any hour.
The same page warns that some locations may be out of stock. A location count therefore describes the advertised footprint, not guaranteed immediate capacity. Confirm that your preferred region is selectable, and ask whether moving later incurs downtime or a fee. The published feature list does not establish the RAM included at each slot tier, so obtain that figure for the exact plan.
Pingperfect, Host Havoc, and Sparked Host: use the ranking as a shortlist
iTechGuides’ September 2026 comparison assessed 13 providers using criteria that included price, slots and RAM, locations, mods, backups, and refund windows. It named Pingperfect its top pick, Host Havoc its runner-up, and Sparked Host the lowest paid price among its top ten.

Price comparison without misleading yourself
| Provider and plan description | Published price | Billing and region context | What you still need to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTX Gaming, starting plan | £6 per month for 20 slots | Provider guide updated 8 October 2026; price shown in pounds. | Included RAM on the selected tier, taxes, storage allocation, upgrade cost, and location availability. |
| Nitrado, smallest listed tier | $6.59 for 4 slots | US-facing page; 30-day term; accessed 13 October 2026. | Regional price, renewal amount, RAM, taxes, and whether the desired location is available. |
| Nitrado, middle listed tier | $16.19 for 10 slots | US-facing page; 30-day term. | Same checks as above, plus the cost of moving to the next tier. |
| Nitrado, 20-slot tier | $24.99 for 20 slots | US-facing page; 30-day term. | Same checks as above; this is not a like-for-like currency comparison with GTX Gaming. |
Do not convert these figures into a single “cheapest” verdict without fixing the currency, billing period, slot count, taxes, and included resources. The published examples are different products at different regional settings. No independent total-cost or performance calculation is established by these figures.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Recommendations by server type
Small private group
- Count the maximum simultaneous players, not the total invite list.
- Choose the smallest tier that leaves room for your intended map and plugins.
- Confirm that slots can be increased later without rebuilding the server.
- Prioritize a nearby location and a usable restore process over a marginally lower entry price.
Nitrado’s 4-slot and 10-slot examples provide clear starting points for a very small group. GTX Gaming’s 20-slot starting example may suit a larger friend group, but compare the actual RAM and currency-adjusted total before choosing.

- Make an inventory of every Workshop map, plugin framework, and plugin version.
- Ask the host to confirm support for that exact combination, including the intended Unturned version.
- Check whether you can upload configuration files and restore the world after a failed update.
- Use a refund or trial window, where available, to test installation and joining before inviting the whole community.
GTX Gaming is the most explicit in the published material about Workshop maps and mods, Rocket (LDM), and OpenMod. That is evidence of advertised support, not a compatibility guarantee for every mod combination.
Public or growing server
- Price the next two slot tiers, not only today’s tier.
- Compare RAM upgrade pricing and whether storage grows with the plan.
- Check backup frequency, retention, and restore permissions for administrators.
- Choose support channels that match the hours your community plays.
A low starting price can become expensive if each growth step requires a full migration or if additional RAM costs more than the slots themselves.
Players spread across regions
Choose the location closest to the largest share of players, then test from the outlying regions. If the group is evenly divided, ask whether the host permits relocation and what downtime or fee applies. Do not infer a latency winner from a provider’s location list alone.

Buying and setup checklist
- Define the workload. Record expected concurrent players, map size, Workshop items, plugins, and whether the server is private or public.
- Shortlist two or three plans at the same slot count. Record currency, billing period, RAM, storage, backup policy, DDoS protection, support, and refund terms in one table.
- Verify the region. Select the datacenter nearest most players and run any available ping test from their actual networks.
- Confirm compatibility in writing. Ask about each map, plugin framework, version, and update procedure rather than relying on a generic “mods supported” label.
- Read the recovery terms. Find out how many backups exist, how long they are retained, who can restore them, and whether restoration replaces current files.
- Test before announcing. Join with a few players, load the intended map, exercise the plugins, and confirm that a backup can be located and restored.
- Document administration. Save the server address, control-panel credentials, configuration changes, scheduled restarts, and the cancellation date in a secure location.
Common problems and what to check
The server fills up quickly
Raise the slot count only after checking whether the current plan also has enough RAM. If the host sells slots and RAM separately, increasing one without the other may not solve the issue. Ask whether the upgrade is immediate and whether the monthly charge is prorated.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsPlayers report lag
Separate network distance from server workload. Compare player regions with the selected datacenter, then temporarily disable recently added Workshop content or plugins to isolate load. Review the host’s resource graphs if supplied. A provider’s location list or marketing claim cannot diagnose your particular workload.
A map or plugin fails after an update
Record the version that worked, stop adding new components, and restore the last known-good configuration if your plan permits it. Ask support whether the host has changed the server executable or plugin framework. Do not assume that a framework advertised as supported covers every plugin release.
You need to roll back the world
Check the backup timestamp before restoring. “Daily backups” may leave only one recent restore point, and a restore can overwrite current progress. Download a copy of the current world first when the control panel allows it.
Your preferred region is unavailable
BisectHosting explicitly notes that some locations may be out of stock, and any provider’s capacity can change. Choose the next-closest region only after checking expected player impact, or ask when the preferred location will return. Do not pay for a distant region solely because its plan is cheaper.
What these recommendations can—and cannot—prove
The dated provider pages support claims about listed prices, slots, advertised RAM or storage, locations, backups, DDoS protection, support, mod frameworks, and refund language. They do not establish comparative uptime, real-world latency for your group, performance under a particular modpack, or the quality of individual support interactions.
The iTechGuides comparison contributes a September 2026 shortlist and explains that it considered price, slots/RAM, locations, mods, backups, and refund windows. Its referral disclosure and lack of controlled tests mean its ordering should be treated as an editorial starting point, not a measured league table.
