2025 is over, so these games are no longer upcoming. This retrospective gathers selected releases and announcements from the year, with the clearest date and platform details in the available sources. It is not a complete release list, and the dates below describe what publishers announced at the time—not a guarantee of current availability.
Confirmed 2025 release dates
South of Midnight — April 8, 2025
Xbox Wire’s Developer_Direct recap listed South of Midnight for April 8, 2025, on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, and cloud. The recap is a publisher announcement, not an independent recommendation or confirmation of current purchase options. Read Xbox Wire’s Developer_Direct 2025 recap.
DOOM: The Dark Ages — May 15, 2025
The same Xbox Wire recap listed DOOM: The Dark Ages for May 15, 2025, on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5. Those are the platforms identified in that announcement; check the relevant store or publisher for current editions and availability.
What else was on the 2025 release calendar?
Release calendars from GameSpot, Game Informer, and TechRadar tracked a wider mix of games across platforms, including entries with firm dates, broad release windows, or dates still to be determined. Their calendars are useful for understanding the range of titles anticipated in 2025, but they are not exhaustive lists or proof of current commercial availability.

How to use a 2025 release calendar now
For a game you want to play today, check its publisher or platform store for the current listing, supported edition, and regional availability. A historical announcement can establish what was planned and which platforms were named at the time; it cannot establish whether a specific edition is currently in stock or available to buy.
