The map ideas below are starting points—not universal coordinates. Choose the objective site and defensive setup first, then check that the camera can attach, see the intended lane clearly, and remain difficult to spot.
What makes a Valkyrie camera spot useful?
Valkyrie is an Intel/Support defender. Her Black Eye cameras attach to surfaces and give operators a live feed, according to Ubisoft’s operator profile. A strong placement is not simply hidden or wide-ranging: it balances useful information with a view that is hard to notice and easy for teammates to act on.

- Information value: The camera watches an entry, crossing, rotation, plant approach, or other decision point—not an empty room.
- Concealment: Consider what attackers naturally look toward as they enter. A camera that is easy to spot or shoot may not survive long enough to help.
- Clear sightline: Teammates should be able to identify the lane and movement without guessing.
- Team response: Someone should be able to use the information for a callout, rotation, or utility decision.
- Fit for the round: Site setup, attack route, and map geometry can change what is worth watching.
Ubisoft’s roadmap, updated September 23, 2026, documents continuing map modernization and ranked-pool changes. The ten maps below are the maps covered by the cited guide, not a claim that they are all currently available in every playlist.
Where should Valkyrie place Black Eye cameras?
Use these broad angle concepts as a shortlist for a custom match. The cited map guide does not provide verified attachment coordinates or complete setups for every objective site, so treat labels such as “hallway” or “plant-side” as lanes to investigate, not guaranteed spots. Identify the site and use current in-game callouts when discussing a placement with teammates.

Bank
- Vault approach: Watch the route attackers must use to approach the vault, so defenders can recognize a push before it reaches the objective.
- Main-lobby rotation: Cover movement through the lobby to reveal attackers changing lanes or moving between areas.
- Office-side late flank: Look for a view that warns defenders of a late approach from the office side. Its value depends on the site and which routes the defense needs to protect.
Border
- Half-wall crossing: Monitor the exposed crossing so defenders can see when attackers commit to moving through it.
- Stair and balcony pressure: Consider overlapping a stair or balcony approach with a doorway view. The purpose is to expose a push through a choke point, not to assume one camera will cover every route.
Coastline
- Side-lane entrance: Watch an entry that could open pressure on the chosen site.
- Bedroom corridor rotation: Look for movement along the corridor when that route connects to your site’s likely attack lanes.
- Plant-side off-angle: Seek a less obvious view toward a plant approach. Confirm the relevant site and sightline before relying on it.
Consulate
- Corridor cross-choke: Cover a corridor where attackers must cross or turn, giving defenders an early warning of movement.
- Bedroom objective approach: Watch the approach to the bedroom objective when defending that site.
- Vertical or roof-adjacent lane: Consider a view on the relevant vertical transition or roof-side lane, but check that current geometry actually provides the intended sightline.
Theme Park
- Central ride-area entry lanes: Use the central area as a reference for identifying which entry lane attackers are taking.
- Doorway timing angle: A doorway view can reveal when an attacker moves through a choke point.
- Vertical transition: Watch a transition between levels if it matters to the defended site and can be seen clearly from a safe attachment point.
Emerald Plains
- Central hallway: Monitor movement through the central hall to help distinguish a push from a rotation.
- Doorway from a cover edge: Check whether a camera attached near cover can see attackers entering without being immediately obvious from their approach.
- Plant-side off-angle: Look for a view of the plant approach that is useful to defenders without assuming a specific site-independent coordinate.
Favela
- Staircase: Watch a staircase that attackers may use to reach or pressure the defended floor.
- Basement stairs: For a site where basement access matters, consider a view that reveals movement on the basement stair route.
- Second-floor doorway: Monitor a second-floor entry when it is relevant to the objective. Check both attachment and visibility in a custom match.
Outback
- Open-approach choke: Use a camera to reveal when attackers commit to an exposed approach.
- Rotation hallway: Track movement through a hallway connecting attack lanes or site approaches.
- Plant-side off-angle: Look for an unobtrusive angle on a plant approach for the site being defended.
Skyscraper
- Stairwell and adjacent doorway: Watch a stairwell approach and, if the geometry permits, a nearby doorway that attackers could use to enter or rotate.
- Window-to-room lane: Monitor movement from a window into the relevant room, rather than placing a camera solely for a broad exterior view.
- Upper-to-lower transition: Reveal movement between levels when that route is important to the site setup.
Villa
- Hallway entry: Watch an entry hallway attackers may use to pressure the chosen site.
- Patio or door approach: Cover the relevant patio-side or doorway approach, checking that the camera sees the actual route attackers take.
- Site rotation: Monitor a rotation that could let attackers move between lanes or approach the objective from another direction.
How to test a placement before relying on it
- Choose the site and the question. Decide whether the camera should reveal an entry, a rotation, a cross, or a plant approach. A placement without a clear purpose is unlikely to help the team.
- Check the current geometry in a custom match. Confirm that the device attaches to the surface and that the feed shows the intended lane from an identifiable angle.
- View it from the attackers’ approach. Ask whether an attacker moving naturally through the area would notice or quickly destroy the camera. Clever positioning does not make a camera immune to detection or counters.
- Check whether a teammate can respond. A useful feed should allow someone to make a callout, move, or use utility in time.
- Recheck after a layout or setup change. A changed map, site setup, or attack plan can make an old sightline irrelevant.
The third-party Rainbow Six Siege Center Valkyrie guide likewise recommends balancing concealment with useful information, practicing placements in custom matches, and using verbal callouts rather than unnecessary spotting.
How to use the feed without wasting the intel
Give teammates a concise callout about the location and what is happening—for example, that attackers are crossing a watched lane or entering through a named route. Avoid silently watching a feed when a timely callout could change a decision. Unnecessary spotting can alert attackers to a camera, so use it when the team has a reason to reveal the information rather than as a reflex.

What to know about outdoor Black Eyes
Ubisoft’s Y6S4 Pre-Season Designer’s Notes state that “Cameras thrown outside will lose connection after 10 seconds of activity.” The notes also say Valkyrie’s camera feed begins once the device attaches to a surface. This makes an outdoor camera an opening-information option, not a source of lasting surveillance. The 10-second rule is documented in that historical patch note; because Siege is updated live, check current patch information before relying on it as the present mechanic.
