One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchFor console VR, Gran Turismo 7 is the clearest pick: it supports PS VR2 on PS5. On PC, the strongest documented choices span GT, rally, Formula, endurance and broader motorsport sims. This is a practical editorial shortlist, not a hands-on performance ranking; the available evidence does not establish a tenth title with equally clear current support.
How to choose a VR racing game
Start with the platform you own. Gran Turismo 7 is the PS5-and-PS-VR2 option here; the other titles below are PC VR candidates. Their disciplines differ, so choose between circuit and GT racing, rally, Formula, endurance, or a broader motorsport mix rather than treating them as interchangeable.
A Steam “VR Supported” label identifies compatibility, not guaranteed smooth performance or equal visual quality. Headset, runtime, PC hardware and game version matter. Check the current store listing and the specific headset/runtime requirements before buying. These PC titles are PC VR paths, not verified standalone Quest games.
Best documented VR racing games
1. Gran Turismo 7 — best for PS5 and PS VR2
Platform: PS5 + PS VR2. Fit: console players who want a broad racing game in VR. The official GT7 manual confirms VR support for online and offline races, except two-player split-screen, and lists VR Showroom and VR Replay. This is not a PC or standalone Quest version.

2. iRacing — best candidate for online competition
Platform: PC VR. Fit: players prioritizing online sim racing. iRacing’s official VR page describes VR support dating to 2013 and lists common headset families including Meta and Pimax. Check that page for current headset compatibility and subscription details before committing.
3. Automobilista 2 — broad motorsport variety
Platform: PC VR. Fit: players seeking variety across karts, prototypes, and historic and modern cars, with solo and online play and dynamic weather. Its Steam listing marks it “VR Supported” and names SteamVR or Oculus PC in its VR requirements.
The Steam listing accessed in 2026 gives minimum requirements of 8 GB RAM and a GTX 680 or equivalent, and recommended requirements of 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1080 Ti or equivalent. Those are listed PC requirements, not a promise of a particular VR frame rate; the page recommends a substantially stronger PC for general play than its minimum spec.
4. Assetto Corsa — PC circuit-racing option
Platform: PC VR. Fit: a circuit-racing choice for PC players. Steam’s racing listings mark it “VR Supported.” The sources used here do not establish specific mod support or comparative VR performance, so check the current listing and your setup.

- Cutting-edge performance

5. Assetto Corsa Competizione — focused GT racing

6. DiRT Rally 2.0 — rally option
Platform: PC VR. Fit: rally fans who want a different discipline from circuit racing. Steam’s racing listings mark it “VR Supported.” Current service and online-feature status were not confirmed here, so do not assume every legacy online feature remains active.

Best Value
- [Sweet spot keeper] The bigger anti-slip rear pad plus the pull of the top strap effectively prevent the front from slipping down and keep the sweet spot stable without the need of ridiculous huge forehead pressure as the stock.
- [Forehead pressure relief] With soft forehead pads and the weight distribution from the top strap, your forehead will feel much less pressure and more comfortable.
- [Sweat solution] 3 different material pads are included in the package, two are sweat-absorbing and washable, and one is sweatproof, and fit different seasons/scenario/user preference.
- [Weight distribution and front-back banalce] stock VR2 front is much heavier than the rear and may cause neck pain for long use, this mod adds some weight on rear and distributes some front weight to the top of the head through the top strap.
- [One stop solution] package includes 3 different forehead pads + 3 different material rear pads + 2 different top straps, a combination at your own choice to fit best for your comfort.
9. Le Mans Ultimate — endurance-racing candidate
Platform: PC VR. Fit: players drawn to endurance racing. Steam’s racing listings mark it “VR Supported,” but that category listing does not establish the state or quality of its VR implementation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why this is a nine-game shortlist, not a forced top ten
The evidence available for this list verifies nine distinct candidates, not a tenth with sufficiently clear current primary-source support. Adding an unverified name would make the ranking less useful. The order above is an editorial guide by platform and likely fit, not an objective score: there are no comparable frame-rate or visual-quality tests across these games, and no personal testing was conducted.
Quick Recap
What you need to play
- For GT7: a PS5 and PS VR2. Its manual describes the VR modes and race coverage listed above.
- For PC VR: a VR-ready Windows PC, a compatible headset and a supported runtime. Compatibility and performance vary by title and setup; consult the individual current store page before purchase.
- For Automobilista 2: Steam identifies SteamVR or Oculus PC as VR options and publishes the PC requirements noted above.
- For a wheel: a racing wheel and pedals are optional setup gear, not an established universal prerequisite in the sources here. Confirm that the exact game supports your wheel model.
