Which Warzone gun should you use right now?
Choose by the distance and role you expect to play, then decide whether you can comfortably control and handle the weapon. CODMunity’s ranking, dated Sep. 30, 2026, and WZRanked’s Season 6 list, last updated Sep. 22, both feature the Voyak KT-3, VMP, and Strider 300 among their leading weapons. Neither ranking reflects the Oct. 7 update.

The rankings do not establish one best weapon for every playlist, squad size, or controller and mouse-and-keyboard setup. Use the recommendations as role-based candidates, not a universal verdict.
Why the latest patch makes the rankings provisional
Raven Software’s official Season 6 notes for Oct. 7, 2026 say the update aimed to shake up the AR and SMG meta by reducing a few strong performers and giving lesser-used choices more room. The notes specifically say the AN-94 had enjoyed a strong run and that the developers wanted to bring it back in line with the rest of the AR category. Since the two rankings above predate the patch, they cannot show how it changed the current ordering.

For the AN-94, Raven’s notes list these changes:
- Maximum-damage range shortened from 0–45 m to 0–38 m.
- Maximum damage reduced from 41 to 38; headshot multiplier reduced from 1.3x to 1.2x.
- Recoil increased by 12% in Battle Royale and Resurgence.
- Bullet velocity reduced from 920 m/s to 890 m/s, and ADS speed slowed from 235 ms to 245 ms in Battle Royale and Resurgence.
Those are official patch changes, not a complete ranking of weapons. Check the current in-game balance and up-to-date rankings before committing to a build.
What the published performance figures do—and don’t—tell you
CODMunity’s Sep. 30 ranking lists average time-to-kill (TTK) figures of 637 ms for the Voyak KT-3 at 10–40 m and 764 ms at 40–80 m. For the VMP, it lists 551 ms at 0–10 m and 718 ms at 10–40 m. These are CODMunity’s publisher-specific metrics, not official game statistics or proof that either gun will perform the same way for every player.

CODMunity also reports a pick average of 25.6% for the Voyak KT-3 and 24.8% for the VMP. Those figures belong to its Sep. 30 ranking and should not be read as current post-patch pick rates.

How to choose between the shortlist
- Match the weapon to the fight. Start with the Voyak KT-3 for long range, the VMP for close range, or the Strider 300 for a sniper role.
- Compare control and handling. A ranking does not tell you which recoil pattern or handling feel suits you. Try a candidate in your usual mode and pay attention to whether you can keep it on target and move comfortably.
- Recheck after balance changes. The latest cited ranking dates precede the Oct. 7 patch, so confirm that the weapon and build still fit your needs in the current game.
