The practical choices are an app-supported smart TV, a compatible streaming player, a computer, or a phone/tablet. Crunchyroll and Netflix support all of those device categories, but the shows, seasons, films, dubs, subtitles, and release schedules vary by country. Check both titles in your local catalog before paying for a subscription.
Can you watch both anime without a PS5?
Yes. A PS5 is only one way to run streaming applications on a television; it is not a requirement for either series. If your television already has the required apps, you can watch directly on it. If it does not, a Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Chromecast can provide the app interface. A Windows or Mac computer can play through a browser, and Android phones, iPhones, and tablets are also supported routes.

The important qualification is availability. A device can support an app while that app’s local catalog lacks a particular season, film, language track, or episode. Treat the hardware decision and the catalog decision as two separate checks:

Smart televisions
Using an existing smart TV is normally the simplest option because it avoids another box, remote, power adapter, and HDMI input. Crunchyroll lists Samsung televisions running Tizen OS 3 or later, LG televisions running webOS 4 or later, Android TV and Google TV devices, and Apple TV among its supported families. Netflix supports many smart-TV brands, although its compatible models and software requirements differ by manufacturer.
“Smart TV” is not a sufficient compatibility test by itself. Two televisions from the same brand can use different operating-system versions, and an older model may no longer receive an app update. Open the television’s app store and search for Crunchyroll and Netflix by name. Then check the app’s information screen for the required operating-system version and sign-in method. If the app does not appear, check the model’s support page and update the television before assuming that a separate player is necessary.
| Existing device | Crunchyroll support information | Netflix support information |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung TV | Tizen OS 3 minimum | Supported across many smart-TV brands; verify the exact model |
| LG TV | webOS 4 minimum | Supported across many smart-TV brands; verify the exact model |
| Android TV or Google TV | Supported device family | Supported device family; verify the installed app |
| Apple TV | Supported; tvOS 17 minimum is listed for the streaming-player route | Supported device family |
The operating-system figures above come from Crunchyroll’s device information. Requirements can change, so use the live support page for a final check immediately before you subscribe or replace hardware.
Computers
For a computer, open the service’s website rather than looking for a television app. Crunchyroll lists these minimum browser versions:

Netflix supports computer viewing through netflix.com. Update your browser, sign in, and search each title separately. If you plan to connect the computer to a television, confirm that the computer’s video output, cable, and television input work together before making a subscription decision. The computer itself does not make a title available in a country where the service does not license it.
Phones and tablets
Crunchyroll lists Android 8 and iOS 17 as minimum mobile operating-system versions. Netflix also supports phones and tablets. Install the official app from your platform’s app store, sign in, and search for both series. A phone or tablet is useful for travel or for testing catalog availability before you buy a television player. Viewing on a small screen is optional; the PS5-free requirement does not force you to watch there.
Which services may carry the two shows?
One Piece
The official English One Piece links hub names Crunchyroll and Netflix as viewing options. It also names Hulu and Pluto TV. That is a list of services associated with the official hub, not a promise that every service carries every episode in every country. Open the service available in your region and search for the series before subscribing.

Official Japanese distribution information is more specific but applies to Japan. A Japanese streaming page carries current distribution details and warns that start dates and times can change. It also states that Netflix’s Japanese distribution excludes the SPECIAL EDITED VERSION Fish-Man Island arc. That exclusion should not be generalized to Netflix catalogs elsewhere.

- Fire TV Ambient Experience lets you display over 2,000 pieces of museum-quality art and photography.
The official full-episode page advertises 1,000 episodes and weekly Thursday additions, while warning that the schedule can change. “1,000 episodes” is a catalog-page figure, not a guarantee that all 1,000 are playable on your account or in your country on the day you check.
Jujutsu Kaisen
The official Jujutsu Kaisen on-demand listing currently describes seasons 1–3 and films, with services including Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video among a wider range of Japanese SVOD options. That listing is Japanese-market information. Separately, Hulu’s United States Crunchyroll catalog page names Jujutsu Kaisen among selected Crunchyroll titles. The US result cannot be used as evidence for availability in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, or another territory.
Because the two official listings describe different markets, no single service can be declared universal for both anime. A service that has One Piece where you live may not have the desired Jujutsu Kaisen season, and the reverse can also happen.

- Getting set up is easy – Plug in and connect to Wi-Fi for smooth streaming.
- Set the correct country. Check the catalog while signed in from the country where you will watch. A search result from another region is not a reliable substitute.
- Search both titles separately. Do not assume that a bundle or service name covers both series. Open the individual title pages.
- Expand the season selector. Confirm the exact season number, episode range, and whether the page is a series, a compilation, or a special edition.
- Check films separately. For Jujutsu Kaisen, the official listing distinguishes seasons and films. A service carrying the television seasons may not carry every film.
- Open audio and subtitle settings. Verify the language you intend to use rather than relying on a generic “available” label.
- Check the device. Confirm that the exact TV model, player model, browser, or mobile operating system supports the app.
- Check release timing. A listed announcement date can be territory-specific, and distribution times can change.
- Calculate the total cost. Include any separate subscriptions, rentals, or upgrades needed to obtain both titles; no universal plan or price applies across markets.
Take a screenshot or note the season and language information before subscribing if the catalog page is easy to misread. This is particularly useful when a service lists multiple versions of a long-running series.
What the 2026 One Piece release announcement does—and does not—tell you
An official announcement dated March 28, 2026, said the Elbaph arc would begin distribution in Japan from April 9, 2026, across 11 services: FOD, Prime Video, U-NEXT, d Anime Store, Anime Hodai, Lemino, DMM TV, ABEMA, Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+.
That announcement establishes a Japanese release plan. It does not establish that the same arc began on April 9 in your country, that every listed service operates there, or that the episode is available under the same subscription tier. If you are outside Japan, use the local service catalog and local release notice instead of treating the Japanese date as a worldwide launch.
Add a streaming player if the TV lacks the apps
A separate player is the practical replacement for a PS5 when your television cannot install the required apps. Crunchyroll lists Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, and Chromecast. Netflix also lists Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Roku, Apple TV, and Chromecast. A Fire TV Stick is therefore a plausible type of device to search for, but no particular model is required or endorsed by the information available here. Verify the exact model and its current app support.

| Streaming-player family | Crunchyroll requirement or note | Netflix support information |
|---|---|---|
| Fire TV | Fire OS 6 minimum | Fire TV and Fire TV Stick are listed |
| Roku | Version 11.0.0 b1 minimum | Roku is listed |
| Apple TV | tvOS 17 minimum | Apple TV is listed |
| Chromecast | Supported device family | Chromecast is listed |
These are app-support requirements, not recommendations of one product over another. A newer player may be easier to update, but the deciding question is whether the exact model can install both apps in your region.
Generic setup procedure
- Connect the player to an available HDMI input on the television.
- Connect its power supply and select that HDMI input on the television.
- Join the player’s setup screen to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Install Crunchyroll and Netflix from the player’s app store, if both are available for your country.
- Open each app, sign in, and search for both anime.
- Confirm playback, subtitles, and audio on the television before discarding packaging or committing to a longer subscription.
If the player is second-hand or several years old, check its software-update status first. An app may be listed for a platform family while a specific discontinued model is no longer eligible for updates.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose the route that fits your situation
| Your situation | Most direct route | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Your smart TV shows both apps | Install the apps on the TV | TV operating-system version, local catalogs, language options |
| Your TV has one app but not the other | Use the available TV app and a computer, mobile device, or player for the second service | Whether using two services is necessary for your seasons and films |
| Your TV has no suitable apps | Add a compatible Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, or Chromecast | Exact model, current operating-system support, HDMI input, Wi-Fi |
| You do not need television viewing | Use a computer browser or phone/tablet app | Browser or mobile minimum version, screen size, audio/subtitle controls |
| You are traveling or changing countries | Use the device you already own and recheck the local catalog | Regional licensing, release timing, and language availability |
The lowest-friction choice is usually the one that already meets both checks: the app runs on it and the local catalog contains the material you want. Buying a player solves an app-compatibility problem; it does not solve a licensing gap.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTroubleshoot the common failure points
The app cannot be found
- Confirm the television or player’s country and account region.
- Install pending system updates and restart the device.
- Check the exact model against the service’s current device-support page.
- If the model is below the listed minimum, use a supported computer, mobile device, or external player instead of repeatedly reinstalling the app.
The app opens, but a season or film is missing
- Search the title without assuming that the home screen’s featured row shows the full catalog.
- Open the season selector and look for a separate film or special-edition entry.
- Check the country-specific listing; Japanese and US pages do not establish availability elsewhere.
- Verify that you are not looking at a different audio, subtitle, or edited-version listing.
Playback works on a phone but not on the TV
- Test the television app or player directly rather than assuming that phone playback proves TV-app support.
- Update the TV, player, or app to the current supported version.
- Check the network connection at the TV location.
- If the exact TV model is unsupported, move playback to a computer or add a supported player.
Subtitles or dubbing are not what you expected
Language availability is title- and region-specific. Open the episode’s audio and subtitle menu before starting a long viewing session. Do not infer language support from another country’s catalog or from the service’s general app description.
A practical pre-subscription checklist
Run through this list for each person who will watch:
- Country: Is the catalog being checked from the country where viewing will occur?
- Titles: Are both One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen present?
- Coverage: Are the required seasons, episodes, and films included?
- Version: Is the listing the standard series, a special edit, or a film?
- Language: Are the preferred dub and subtitle languages shown?
- Device: Does the exact TV, player, browser, phone, or tablet meet the current requirements?
- Timing: Has the episode or arc actually released in this territory?
- Total cost: What combination of subscriptions or rentals is needed for the complete watch list?
If every item passes, you have a legal PS5-free viewing route. If only the device check fails, add a supported player. If the catalog check fails, changing hardware will not make the missing title appear; you will need to check another legally available service in your country or wait for a regional release.
The bottom line for choosing your setup
Check your existing smart TV first, then try a computer or mobile device if you want an immediate test. Use Crunchyroll’s listed minimums—Tizen OS 3, webOS 4, Fire OS 6, Roku 11.0.0 b1, tvOS 17, Chrome/Firefox/Edge 123, Safari 17.1, Android 8, and iOS 17—as a starting point, not a substitute for the live support page. Add a Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, or Chromecast only when the television lacks a supported app. Finally, verify the local season, film, language, and release information for both anime before paying. That combination gives you the convenience of television viewing without owning a PS5 and avoids buying hardware for a catalog that is unavailable where you live.
