How to choose the best weapon for your build
Compare weapons using the attributes you have actually invested in, not just their base power. A weapon’s scaling determines how well it benefits from those attributes, while its passive effects can support a particular combat plan. Effects are weapon-specific; Gamer Guides reports that many weapons unlock effects at levels 4, 10 and 20. Check the individual weapon’s details in game rather than assuming every weapon follows the same pattern.

- Character: Confirm that the weapon is usable by the character you are building.
- Scaling: Favor the attributes your character already emphasizes, or that you intend to develop.
- Passives: Check what each effect does and the weapon level at which it unlocks.
- Upgrade state: Compare the weapons at realistic upgrade levels, accounting for the materials you can spend.
- Element or status: Consider these when they complement the rest of your setup.
- Acquisition: Factor in whether the weapon requires exploration, a side route, an optional encounter, or a particular quest choice.

For a broader checklist, Game Checklists’ weapon roster states that it covers 117 weapons, including 13 attributed to the Thank You Update and NG+ Baguette. Treat 117 as that checklist’s inventory count and scope, not as a ranking or performance measure.
Notable weapons and where to find them
Deminerim for Lune
Deminerim is a lightning weapon for Lune tied to the Demineur encounter. In Demineur’s area, find the nearby mine and use the “Hey, hold this” dialogue option to return it. PC Gamer advises completing this exchange before fighting Demineur; consult its Demineur quest guide for the route details. This is a quest-linked example, not a universal best-in-slot recommendation.

Abysseram for Gustave
Gamer Guides places Abysseram in Coral Cave in Flying Waters, as a drop from an optional Bourgeon encounter. The route described involves spotting the large monster in the background and climbing the first wall. Because the reward depends on reaching an optional encounter, explore the area rather than assuming it comes from the main path. See the character-organized location guide for its entry.
Medalum for Maelle
Guidedragon recommends winning the Gestral Arena’s final battle with Maelle to obtain Medalum, and describes a duel against Golgra as an alternative route. Treat this as a route tip rather than a guarantee about missability; check the available in-game options if you are deciding which encounter to complete. The recommendation appears in Guidedragon’s weapons and equipment guide.

How weapon upgrades work
Gamer Guides describes weapon upgrades through level 33. It reports catalyst ceilings at levels 3, 9, 19, 32 and 33, and says the Curator becomes available to upgrade weapons after Flying Waters. Those thresholds matter when comparing a weapon you already own with one you would need to level: the displayed weapon may not yet reflect the build’s eventual value.
Upgrade level can change weapon power and scaling, while passive effects may unlock at separate thresholds. Consult the weapon’s in-game details before committing materials, especially when you need an exact effect or catalyst requirement. Where weapons come from
Weapons are not all rewards from ordinary combat. The roster checklist describes weapons obtained through merchants, boss or enemy drops, exploration, quests, events and Paint Cages. Some entries are tied to optional encounters, side quests or progression, so a character-by-character location list is useful when a weapon is missing from your inventory.
Use Game Checklists’ all-weapons checklist for broad collection tracking, and Gamer Guides’ location guide to check character-specific sources. The former attributes 13 weapons to the Thank You Update; verify entries against your current game content if your version or update availability differs.
