Bring your strongest upgraded weapon to Anna. The Claymore is not available until after her fight, during the Village Church section. Once you take it from the church, leave through the back, follow the outside path to the right-hand dead end, watch the blue memory and collect the Red Ribbon from the grave. Return the ribbon to Anna’s arena wreath, rest at a lantern and inspect the wreath again to finish Till Death. The reward is Tomorrow’s Promise and 3,000 Catalysts.

What to use for Till Death

Till Death has two separate equipment decisions. Anna is the first one: she must be defeated before the quest can begin, and the Claymore has not been placed in your inventory yet. Use whichever of your existing weapons is upgraded furthest and whose moveset you control reliably. The second decision comes after Anna, when the Claymore becomes available in the Village Church. At that point, you can keep your current Saber or Rapier, or invest in the Claymore if its slower, heavier rhythm suits you.

All three melee weapons—Saber, Rapier and Claymore—share the same upgrade ceiling of level 10. Because the final upgrade consumes one Quintessential Blade Material, do not spend that rare material on a weapon you have not tested. Tomorrow’s Promise also changes how your Ferrofluid Flask heals, so choose Ambers and healing habits around the length and pressure of the encounters you expect to face.

How to start and finish the quest

The quest begins only after Anna, the Bride Drowned in Tears, has been defeated in Cursed Hollow. The wreath in her arena is both the starting point and the final interaction. The route contains four journal steps, with the church detour supplying the item needed to complete the wreath.

1. Activate the wreath in Anna’s arena

  1. Defeat Anna in Cursed Hollow.
  2. When the arena is safe, approach the wreath at the altar and interact with it. This starts Till Death and records the first journal step.

Do not search the church for the ribbon before this interaction. The grave and its blue memory are part of the active quest route, not a general collectible detour.

2. Reach the Village Church and take the Claymore

  1. Continue through the chapter until you reach the Village Church.
  2. Inside the church, pick up the Claymore.
  3. Leave through the back exit rather than retracing the approach.

The Claymore is acquired during this step, after Anna’s battle. It therefore cannot be your weapon for the boss that precedes the quest. Picking it up does not require you to equip it immediately; you can continue with your established weapon while learning the route.

3. Follow the outside path to the Red Ribbon

  1. From the church’s back exit, follow the outside path.
  2. At the choice in the path, take the right-hand dead end.
  3. View the blue memory at the end of the route.
  4. After the memory, pick up the Red Ribbon at the grave.

The dead end is intentional. If you reach an area that seems to stop, check that you chose the right-hand branch and activated the blue memory. The Red Ribbon is at the grave beyond the church, not inside the church itself and not in Anna’s arena.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

4. Return to the wreath and complete the ritual

  1. Travel back to Anna’s arena.
  2. Interact with the wreath and place the Red Ribbon.
  3. Rest at a lantern.
  4. Inspect the wreath once more after resting.

The final inspection is required. Placing the ribbon and walking away, or placing it without resting at a lantern, does not complete the quest. The wreath interaction after the rest closes the fourth journal step and awards Tomorrow’s Promise plus 3,000 Catalysts.

Finding the Red Ribbon without backtracking

Use the sequence “church, Claymore, back exit, outside path, right-hand dead end, blue memory, grave.” That order resolves the most common navigation confusion. The church is a waypoint, not the ribbon’s location. The memory is a trigger on the route; if the grave does not offer the pickup, return to the dead end and make sure the memory was viewed before searching the grave again.

  • COMPACT RESEALABLE PACKAGE: store your pack of Windex Gaming Wipes anywhere in your home for whenever a quick and easy wipedown is needed

After collecting the ribbon, the shortest reliable finish is to return directly to the original arena wreath. You do not need to carry the Claymore or change your weapon to place the ribbon. Once the ribbon is placed, use the nearest available lantern, rest, and then interact with the wreath again. Treat the second wreath inspection as a separate objective rather than as a continuation of the placement animation.

Choosing a weapon for Anna

Anna is fought before the Claymore is obtainable, so the correct recommendation is practical rather than theoretical: use the best-upgraded weapon already in your inventory. A familiar level and moveset are more valuable here than saving materials for a weapon you have not yet handled.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Saber

The Saber is a suitable choice when you prefer its established attack rhythm and already have it upgraded. No universal damage advantage is established for the Saber, so choose it because its moveset lets you maintain consistent spacing and recover safely after attacks, not because it is automatically stronger.

Rapier

The Rapier is equally viable for Anna if its moveset matches your timing and positioning. Its value in this fight is familiarity: an upgraded Rapier that you can control is preferable to an untested weapon. There is no evidence that Anna requires a specific weapon type.

Claymore

The Claymore cannot be used against Anna in this quest sequence. It appears in the Village Church after the boss, during the route that leads to the Red Ribbon. Test it after collecting it, but postpone the level-10 investment until you know that its moveset and combat rhythm fit your build.

Level-10 upgrade path and material costs

Saber, Rapier and Claymore all use the same ten-level progression. The material type changes at levels 5 and 8, and the final level uses a single Quintessential Blade Material. The costs below are per weapon and apply to each of the three melee weapons.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Upgrade level Material required Quantity
2 Crude Blade Material 1
3 Crude Blade Material 2
4 Crude Blade Material 3
5 Pure Blade Material 1
6 Pure Blade Material 2
7 Pure Blade Material 3
8 Distilled Blade Material 1
9 Distilled Blade Material 2
10 Quintessential Blade Material 1

Reaching level 10 therefore consumes six Crude Blade Materials, six Pure Blade Materials, three Distilled Blade Materials and one Quintessential Blade Material in total. The first three tiers are spread across several levels, while the final material is a one-time level-10 cost. If you are undecided between the three weapons, stop before level 10, compare their movesets in ordinary encounters, and reserve the Quintessential material until your choice is certain.

When to upgrade before Anna

Upgrade the weapon you will actually bring into Anna’s arena, provided you can do so without exhausting the final-tier resource needed for a later decision. The Claymore’s appearance after the fight means delaying all upgrades for it leaves you with a weaker option for the boss. Conversely, spending the level-10 material on a weapon you may abandon immediately after the church can create a permanent resource trade-off. A sensible breakpoint is to use your strongest existing weapon for Anna, then evaluate the Claymore at the level your current materials comfortably support.

What Tomorrow’s Promise changes

Completing Till Death grants Tomorrow’s Promise. This Amber changes the Ferrofluid Flask from an immediate heal into health regeneration over time. Instead of receiving the full recovery at the moment of use, you regain health while the effect ticks.

When regeneration is an advantage

Tomorrow’s Promise is useful when you can survive for the duration of the regeneration effect. After creating distance, ending an enemy wave or reaching a safer part of an arena, the delayed recovery can restore health without requiring another consumable. It is particularly comfortable in encounters with pauses between threats, because the Flask can begin working while you reposition or wait for an opening.

When an instant heal is safer

An instant-heal setup remains stronger for emergency recovery. If an enemy can reach you before the regeneration finishes, the delayed effect may not prevent a defeat even though the Flask was used correctly. Choose the immediate heal when you routinely take damage in short bursts, have little room to disengage, or need health restored before the next attack rather than after it.

Encounter condition Better Flask profile Reason
You can create space and survive several seconds Tomorrow’s Promise Regeneration has time to deliver its value.
You are one hit from defeat or trapped in close pressure Instant-heal setup Immediate health is more important than recovery over time.
The fight alternates between combat and safe pauses Tomorrow’s Promise Use the pauses to let the effect tick.
Damage arrives continuously with no reliable retreat Instant-heal setup Delayed healing may be interrupted by the next hit or arrive too late.

Duplicates and rank

A duplicate of Tomorrow’s Promise raises its rank. The exact improvement is tied to the Amber’s rank rather than changing the basic behavior: it remains a regeneration-based Ferrofluid Flask, not an instant heal. If you obtain a duplicate, reassess how much health is restored and how long you can safely remain exposed, but keep the same encounter test—can you survive while the effect ticks?

Amber choices for a general build

A community analysis of launch build 25907482, using data dated October 13, 2026, rates Warrior’s Fury, Glass Soldier, Dominatus, Iron Grip and Perfect Copy as the strongest general Ambers. This is a build assessment, not an official developer tier list. The best option depends on whether your priority is damage, survivability, critical attacks or Flask safety.

Amber Documented effect Best fit Trade-off
Warrior’s Fury At rank III, a kill grants 30% more damage for eight seconds. Players who can chain kills and want a burst window for the next target. Its value drops when there are no quick follow-up kills.
Glass Soldier Increases melee damage while also making you more fragile. Confident players who can avoid incoming attacks and want higher close-range output. The damage increase comes with reduced survivability.
Dominatus Heals on critical attacks. Builds that land critical attacks frequently and can sustain an aggressive rhythm. Healing depends on producing critical attacks rather than simply activating the Flask.
Iron Grip Prevents Flask interruption. Players who lose healing attempts when pressured or struck during Flask use. It protects the Flask action rather than directly increasing weapon damage.
Perfect Copy Raises the ranks of other Ambers. Established builds with several useful Ambers that benefit from higher ranks. Its payoff depends on the quality and rank of the other Ambers you equip.

Damage-focused setup

Warrior’s Fury is the clearest general damage choice when the encounter supplies a kill before the next dangerous target. At rank III, its 30% damage increase lasts eight seconds after a kill, creating a defined burst window. Glass Soldier offers another damage route, but only if you can absorb its fragility cost. Do not treat either effect as a free upgrade: one requires a kill to activate, and the other increases the risk of every mistake.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Critical-attack and sustain setup

Dominatus suits a player whose normal rhythm already produces frequent critical attacks. Its healing is conditional, so it is less dependable for a build that rarely lands criticals. Pairing a critical-oriented approach with Tomorrow’s Promise gives two different recovery mechanisms, but neither should be mistaken for an emergency instant heal: Dominatus requires a successful critical, while Tomorrow’s Promise requires time for regeneration.

Flask-safety setup

Iron Grip is the defensive choice when your main problem is losing the Flask animation to interruption. It does not alter Tomorrow’s Promise’s regeneration timing; it simply keeps the Flask action from being interrupted. This can matter more than a small damage increase in a fight where every failed Flask attempt leaves you in lethal range.

Rank-amplifying setup

Perfect Copy is most useful after you have other Ambers worth amplifying. Its benefit is indirect: it raises their ranks rather than supplying a separate attack or heal. If your collection is still small or your key Amber is already at the desired rank, a direct damage, sustain or Flask-safety option may have a more immediate effect.

A practical preparation checklist

  1. Before entering Anna’s arena: equip the highest-upgraded weapon you already know how to use. Do not plan around the Claymore, because it is not available yet.
  2. Review your upgrade inventory: identify how many Crude, Pure, Distilled and Quintessential Blade Materials you have. Keep the Quintessential material unspent if your weapon choice is unsettled.
  3. Choose the Flask behavior deliberately: use Tomorrow’s Promise when you can make room for regeneration; use an instant-heal setup when Anna or another encounter leaves no safe recovery window.
  4. Select Ambers by failure cause: Warrior’s Fury or Glass Soldier for damage, Dominatus for frequent critical attacks, Iron Grip for interrupted Flask use, and Perfect Copy when several other Ambers will benefit from higher ranks.
  5. After Anna: collect the Claymore in the Village Church, then test its rhythm on the route before committing the level-10 material.
  6. At the church exit: follow the outside path to the right-hand dead end, view the blue memory and pick up the Red Ribbon at the grave.
  7. At the original arena: place the ribbon, rest at a lantern and inspect the wreath again. Skipping the rest or the second inspection leaves the quest unfinished.

Common mistakes and fixes

  • Looking for the ribbon before starting the quest: defeat Anna and activate the arena wreath first.
  • Expecting the ribbon inside the church: take the Claymore, leave through the back and continue to the grave on the outside path.
  • Choosing the left branch: the required dead end is on the right-hand side.
  • Missing the blue memory: return to the dead end and view it before trying to collect the ribbon again.
  • Trying to use the Claymore against Anna: it is awarded after the boss, so bring your best existing weapon.
  • Assuming Tomorrow’s Promise is an instant heal: its Ferrofluid Flask recovery happens over time. Create enough safety for the effect to tick.
  • Spending the final material too early: all three weapons reach level 10, but the Quintessential Blade Material is needed for that last level. Test the Claymore and confirm your preferred moveset before using it.
  • Leaving after placing the ribbon: rest at a lantern, then inspect the wreath a second time to trigger completion.

How to decide on your final weapon

There is no quest-specific weapon requirement that makes Saber, Rapier or Claymore mandatory. The evidence supports a moveset-and-rhythm decision: use the weapon whose attacks, spacing and recovery you can execute consistently. Since Anna comes before the Claymore, that decision is split into two stages. First, win with your strongest established weapon. Second, evaluate the Claymore after obtaining it and spend rare materials only when its handling proves worthwhile for your character.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Tomorrow’s Promise follows the same principle. Its regeneration is powerful when the encounter gives you time and unreliable when it does not. Judge it by the actual recovery windows you can create, then choose Ambers that address your biggest failure—insufficient damage, low survivability, missed criticals or interrupted Flask use.
