There is no verified live retailer price in the available listings to name as the best Xbox Series X|S deal. Microsoft’s U.S. product pages provide useful reference prices, but they are not proof of a discount or a guaranteed checkout price. Compare the exact model, condition, seller, bundle and total cost before buying.

Xbox Series X|S reference prices

Microsoft’s U.S. product pages listed the following prices in a snapshot checked October 8, 2026. Microsoft notes that estimated prices and availability may vary by retailer, so treat these figures as reference prices rather than confirmed live offers.

Console configuration Microsoft listed price What to know
Xbox Series X 1TB Carbon Black, disc drive $799.99 Native 4K-capable; plays physical games and UHD Blu-ray discs.
Xbox Series X 1TB Robot White, all-digital $749.99 Digital-only Series X configuration; compare its price with the disc model before choosing.
Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black, disc drive $799.99 More built-in storage than the 1TB model; has a disc drive.
Xbox Series S Not stated by Microsoft in the cited product-page snapshot Digital-only; available in 512GB and 1TB configurations.

Microsoft’s U.S. console catalog also showed certified refurbished listings in the same October 8, 2026 snapshot: a 2TB Galaxy Black Series X for $679.99 and a 1TB Series X Digital Edition for $599.99. These are catalog examples, not guarantees of current stock or price. Check the listing’s condition, seller, warranty and return terms.

Microsoft announced worldwide console price changes effective August 1, 2026, citing rising costs including storage and memory. That announcement explains why older price references may be out of date; it does not identify a current retailer deal.

Which Xbox Series X|S configuration fits you?

Choose a Series X with a disc drive for physical games or UHD Blu-ray

The Series X disc-drive configurations are the straightforward choice if you own physical Xbox games, want to play discs, or use UHD Blu-ray movies. Microsoft positions Series X for native 4K gaming. Compare the 1TB Carbon Black and 2TB Galaxy Black listings by total price and how much storage you need.

Choose the all-digital Series X if you want Series X capabilities without discs

The 1TB Robot White Series X is digital-only. It retains Series X’s native 4K positioning and 1TB capacity, but cannot play physical games or UHD Blu-rays. Its reference price was $50 below Microsoft’s listed 1TB disc-drive model in the snapshot; that difference alone does not establish which is the better live value.

Choose Series S for a digital-only console and a smaller entry point

Series S is digital-only and designed for 1440p gaming, with the ability to upscale to 4K. Microsoft lists 512GB and 1TB configurations. It cannot play physical discs, so factor in whether the digital Xbox games you want are available to you and whether its storage suits your installed-game library. Microsoft’s product page snapshot did not state a price to compare here.

How to tell whether an offer is actually good

  1. Compare the checkout total. Check the current Microsoft listing and retailer listings for the same configuration. Include shipping and applicable taxes; a sale label is not evidence of savings by itself.
  2. Match the exact model. Confirm Series X or Series S, storage capacity, color and whether the console has a disc drive. A digital Series X and disc-drive Series X are different products.
  3. Check who is selling it and its condition. Distinguish new, open-box and certified refurbished stock, and verify the seller, warranty, return policy and availability.
  4. Value the bundle contents realistically. Identify what is included and decide whether you would buy each bundled game, controller or subscription separately. Best Buy’s Xbox results page describes package-deal and sale filters and Xbox bundles, but the retrieved page did not establish an exact winning price. GameStop’s Xbox Series X|S category likewise did not establish a specific current deal price.
  5. Factor in storage. Compare 512GB, 1TB and 2TB models against the games you expect to keep installed. Both console families support optional Storage Expansion Cards via a dedicated port; Microsoft says these add storage while replicating the console’s custom SSD experience. A card is sold separately, not included by default.

Both console families share Xbox Velocity Architecture and support frame rates up to 120 FPS where the game and display support it. A console’s maximum capability does not mean every game runs at that frame rate or resolution.

Consider Xbox All Access by total cost

Microsoft describes Xbox All Access as a console plus 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate through an offer involving Lift Forward and Citizens Pay. Compare the total of all payments with the cost of buying the console outright plus only the subscription time you expect to use. Check current terms, eligibility and offer availability; do not judge the value from the monthly payment alone.

Where to check listings

Microsoft’s product pages identify retailer options, and Best Buy and GameStop provide Xbox Series X|S category or sale pages. The available page snapshots do not establish a current lowest-price retailer or a verified best offer. When checking any listing, confirm the exact model, seller, stock, delivery, bundle contents, condition and checkout total.
