In June 2024, Xbox Wire covered the launch of the Gold Road Chapter on Xbox. It introduced the West Weald area and Scribing; the Gold Road Collection included the base game and earlier Chapters. ESO also received Console Enhanced support, which Xbox described in August 2024 as free for ESO players. Final Fantasy XIV Online — best for story and flexible jobs
Final Fantasy XIV Online became available on Xbox Series X|S in 2024. Xbox Wire dated its open beta to February 21 and its full release to March 21. Its defining appeal is a substantial, story-led journey with flexible job play, alongside the usual online group content. For players who want to follow the main story without assembling a human party for every dungeon, Duty Support lets players tackle many main-story dungeons alongside NPC allies. Access terms are an important part of the choice. Xbox Wire’s March 2024 launch article said upgrading from the free trial to the full game required an ongoing FFXIV subscription as well as Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate. The same launch coverage described the 2024 free trial as having no play-time limit and including A Realm Reborn, Heavensward and Stormblood up to level 70. Xbox’s game description lists guild sieges, exploration, fishing, trading, crafting, cooking and gathering, making it a good match for players who enjoy building a routine around both combat and life skills. Platform status needs care: the Xbox page says the Xbox One version would no longer be downloadable or playable from June 26, 2025, while existing content remained accessible on Xbox Series X|S. DC Universe Online — superhero world, but verify current Xbox status
DC Universe Online offers a superhero setting and was described by Xbox Wire in 2021 as a free-to-play game on Xbox One.
