What are the Beyblade types?
Takara Tomy identifies four types in Beyblade X. Its beginner guide confirms that the Bit determines a top’s type and that customization can change it, but the category names and descriptions are presented as artwork rather than readable text on the guide page. It does not provide enough accessible detail to give a reliable type-by-type chart here.

For a specific Beyblade, check its official product description and the Bit it uses. Treat the type as a useful starting point, not a guarantee of how every top will perform: the Blade, Ratchet, and Bit combination also matters, and Takara Tomy notes that type matchups affect which choice is advantageous.
Parts that shape performance
- Blade: One of the three components in the Beyblade X system.
- Ratchet: One of the three components; changing the combination can change performance.
- Bit: The component that determines the Beyblade’s type.
Official products also show that performance descriptions can overlap. Takara Tomy describes BX-02 Hells Scythe 4-60T as balancing attack and defense, BX-26 Unicorn Sting 5-60GP as combining attack and defense performance with movement that can change by launch method, and CX-14 Knight Fortres GV8-70UN as a defense type. How do you launch a Beyblade?
The basic Beyblade X launch is to attach the top to its dedicated launcher, wait for the shared “3・2・1 Go Shoot” call, and launch it into the stadium. Takara Tomy presents mastering the basic shot as part of learning Xtreme Dash.
- Attach the Beyblade to its dedicated Beyblade X launcher, following the product’s instructions.
- Wait for the players’ “3・2・1 Go Shoot” call.
- Launch into the stadium, following the safety directions in the manual supplied with your product.
The reviewed BX-05 manual indicates launching within 20 cm of the stadium center and warns players not to reach into the stadium while a Beyblade is spinning. Follow the manual for your own product, since setup and safety instructions may be product-specific. The Takara Tomy Beyblade X guide also links to beginner shooting videos, but its indexed pages do not provide readable step-by-step technique instructions. A specific hand angle, launcher angle, or force level therefore cannot be established from those text sources.

What equipment do you need to play Beyblade X?
You need a Beyblade, a compatible Beyblade X launcher, and a dedicated Beyblade X stadium. A package called a “starter” does not necessarily include the stadium, so check the contents before buying.

Can Beyblade X play with older Beyblade series?
No. Takara Tomy says Beyblade X tops cannot be played together with past series such as Beyblade Burst. Use Beyblade X equipment together and follow the supplied manual for setup and safe play.
