BGMI version 3.6.0 was listed on the App Store on 16 January 2025. Its headline addition was the Sacred Quartet theme, with four guardian powers, themed map interactions and an auto-drive option for vehicles. These are details of the 2025 release: later BGMI versions have since appeared, and the old theme, events and offers may no longer be available.
When the BGMI 3.6 update launched
KRAFTON’s App Store version history lists BGMI 3.6.0 on 16 January 2025 (App Store version history). The Economic Times reported that the rollout began at 6:30 a.m. that day, with all devices expected to receive the update by evening (The Economic Times). The latter was a contemporaneous rollout estimate, rather than a guarantee that every device received it at the same time.
Sacred Quartet: the four guardian powers
The update’s Four Guardians theme centered on four elemental abilities. Contemporary reports describe their broad roles as follows; they do not provide controlled comparisons, cooldowns or damage figures, so the abilities cannot be reliably ranked from these descriptions.
| Guardian | Element | Reported role |
|---|---|---|
| Aqua Dragon | Water | Defensive and healing utility: reported to reduce damage and provide healing during enemy attacks. |
| Flaming Phoenix | Fire | Attack and vertical movement: reported to enable fire attacks and high jumps. |
| Naturespirit Deer | Nature | Repositioning: reported to enable teleportation and flanking. |
| Whirlwind Tiger | Wind | Movement and escape: reported to increase movement speed. |
These descriptions are reported by The Economic Times, HT Tech and Moneycontrol. They are summaries of the themed abilities, not performance testing.
