Community posts about a 4Seasons Modern event in Italy circulated video of disputed library handling by Magic player Biagio Cantone. A Reddit thread reproducing a statement attributed to 4Seasons says the organizers, together with judges, reviewed the videos and suspended Cantone from their circuit for 2026. Separate community posts report that he is stepping away from Magic. The available accounts do not establish a Wizards of the Coast ban or a permanent retirement.
What happened at the 4Seasons event?
Community discussion identified the incident as involving Biagio Cantone at a 4Seasons Modern event in Italy. Posts described video of a fetch-and-surveil sequence and alleged that Cantone manipulated his library, with commenters discussing whether an Endurance card was put or kept on top. That characterization comes from community reporting and interpretation of clips; it should not be treated as an independently verified finding about exactly what happened.
The videos became the focus of online discussion and were reportedly reviewed by event organizers and judges. The available community accounts do not provide an independently verified original organizer announcement or a primary statement from Cantone.
What sanction was reported?
A Reddit thread reproduces a statement attributed to 4Seasons. It says the organizers reviewed the player’s videos with judges and believed there was sufficient evidence for a 2026 suspension from their circuit. The reproduced statement also says Bøøse Team agreed to apply the ban at all of its events.

“The beauty of playing Magic is playing Magic. For us, this means competing while respecting the rules, your opponent, and all other registered players. Together with the judges, we have reviewed the player’s videos and believe there is sufficient evidence to warrant a 2026 suspension for Biagio Cantone from our circuit. We also talked about this with Bøøse Team and also they agree to implement the ban for all their events. This type of behaviour is not good for the game and Eternal community.”
The quote is reproduced in a community thread, rather than verified on a directly published 4Seasons page. The thread’s comments clarify the suspension as applying during 2026, despite one commenter initially calling it permanent. The reported sanction concerns the named organizers’ circuit and events; it does not establish a Wizards of the Coast suspension or a ban from all Magic play.

This incident is a reminder to follow the applicable tournament procedures for presenting a deck and allowing an opponent to shuffle or cut, and to call a judge if something seems wrong. The online comments asking why an opponent did not present a deck after a fetch are questions, not authoritative rulings about what the rules required in this particular sequence. Players should check the current official tournament policy for the event and format rather than infer a rule violation from a clip or comment thread.
