To reach Black Myth: Wukong’s Chapter 1 secret area, ring the three hidden bells found behind the Guangzhi, Guangmou, and Whiteclad Noble encounters. Ringing the third bell transports you to Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple, where you can fight Elder Jinchi and earn the Fireproof Mantle.
Where are the three Chapter 1 bells?
Use the shrines and boss arenas as landmarks. The route below is a practical sequence; the available guide evidence identifies all three bells but does not establish that they must be rung in this order.

- Outside the Forest — behind Guangzhi: At Forest of Wolves > Outside the Forest, take the left path from the shrine, cross the wooden bridge, and follow the torches to Guangzhi’s arena. The first bell is behind the arena. PowerPyx’s secret-area guide maps this bell to the Outside the Forest area.
- Snake Trail — behind Guangmou: At Bamboo Grove > Snake Trail, go over the cliffs on the left to reach the lower river area. Turn right past a snake enemy, then follow the paved path through the bamboo and past two torches to Guangmou. The second bell is behind his arena. PowerPyx identifies Snake Trail as the second bell landmark.
- Marsh of White Mist — after Whiteclad Noble: After defeating Whiteclad Noble, take the left path before entering the large cave. The third bell is there. Ringing it triggers the transition to the secret area. PowerPyx gives this location and trigger; IGN’s verified video description also summarizes the three-bell unlock.
What happens when you ring the third bell?
You are transported to Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple. Elder Jinchi is the boss waiting in this secret area. The three-bell trigger and boss outcome are also summarized by PowerPyx and IGN.
How do you get the Fireproof Mantle?
Defeat Elder Jinchi, then return to the body hanging from a tree near the third bell and interact with it to collect the Fireproof Mantle. The guide describes the vessel as helpful against fire damage and floor lava during Chapter 1’s end-boss fight. The available guide does not establish numerical item effects, so treat that as its practical guidance rather than a quantified damage reduction.
