What was Black Myth: Wukong’s Steam milestone?
The milestone is a renewed high after a quieter stretch. Steam Charts recorded an August 2026 peak of 47,042 concurrent players and a 90.27% month-over-month rise in its average-player figure. Raijin recorded an August peak of 47,551. These are tracker-specific readings, not a single reconciled monthly figure published by Valve.

Black Myth: Wukong released on Steam on August 19, 2024, according to its Steam listing. The record followed the game’s launch; the 2026 figure marks a later upswing rather than a new lifetime high.
What explains the player-count rise?
The available tracker data establishes that Steam activity increased in August, but it does not establish why. Neither the Steam Charts nor Raijin figures cited here identify a cause. They do not support attributing the rise to an update, discount, anniversary, or event.

How to read the Steam player-count figures
Concurrent-player counts are snapshots of how many people are playing at the same time, while a monthly peak is the highest such reading recorded within a month. Average-player change is a separate measure, so Steam Charts’ 90.27% increase in August average players should not be mistaken for a 90.27% increase in the peak.
Raijin says it calculates monthly averages from hourly Steam concurrent-player samples and treats the current month as month-to-date. Steam Charts presents its own monthly tracking table. The sites’ reported peaks are therefore best quoted with the tracker and time period attached.
Live counts change quickly. In an October 8, 2026 Steam Charts snapshot, the page showed 2,869 players in game at 00:02:41 UTC and a 24-hour peak of 15,977. Raijin’s page, with figures stated as of October 7, 2026 UTC, showed 7,861 current players and retained its August peak of 47,551. Those current counts are dated snapshots, not lasting measures of the August milestone.
