Black Ops 6’s melee Special Camo challenges in Multiplayer are listed below by weapon. This checklist covers the two Special camos for each of 10 melee weapons; it is not a complete list of Military or Mastery challenges, and it does not establish the requirements for Zombies or Warzone. Check the in-game Camo Hub for current weapon availability, challenge wording, and progress.
How melee camo progression works in Black Ops 6
Camo progression is available without leveling a weapon, according to Activision’s launch progression guide. The general path has three stages: nine Military camos, two weapon-specific Special camos, then that mode’s Mastery camos. In Multiplayer, the Mastery tiers are Gold, Diamond, Dark Spine, and Dark Matter.

Activision describes the nine Multiplayer Military camos as sequential headshot milestones for most weapons: Granite at 5, Woodland at 10, Savanna at 15, Splinter at 20, Moss at 30, Shade at 40, Digital at 50, Tide at 75, and Red Tiger at 100. Because the guide says “most weapons,” do not assume every melee weapon follows those criteria; use its live Camo Hub listing for the specific weapon.
Special Camo access changed after launch. Activision’s Season 02 notes document that an unlocked Special could be equipped after earning five Military camos, instead of waiting for all nine. Check the in-game menu if you need to confirm the current access rule.

The following checklist gives the two Multiplayer Special Camo requirements reported for each weapon in Dot Esports’ list updated for Season 5. It does not cover the full Military-to-Mastery path.

Challenge names and criteria follow the third-party list, which may differ from the game’s exact capitalization or phrasing. Treat the live in-game challenge label as authoritative, especially for the “shortly after” weapon-switch and sprint requirements.

What the challenge types mean for your checklist
- Combat Specialty kills: Knife, Katanas, and Pickaxe list Enforcer requirements; Power Drill, Sai, and Kali Sticks list Recon; Cleaver and Bo Staff list Strategist. Confirm the required specialty is active in the match.
- No-damage kills: Tropical Leopard, Slip, Luminous Leopard, Crestdeep, Nested, and Squirm each call for one kill without taking damage, repeated 30 times.
- Weapon-switch kills: Baseball Bat’s Torment and Nunchaku’s Radiate both require 15 kills shortly after switching or swapping weapons. The published list does not specify an exact timing window, so check the in-game label rather than assuming one.
- Other action or match-count requirements: Power Drill’s Thermal requires kills shortly after sprinting. Katanas’ Coral Crush, Bo Staff’s Legacy, and Kali Sticks’ Driftscape each require five kills in one match on three occasions.
Do Zombies and Warzone use these same melee challenges?
No. Call of Duty describes Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone as separate camo journeys, so these Multiplayer Special requirements should not be carried over to the other modes. Each mode has its own progression and challenge listings; consult the relevant in-game Camo Hub. See Activision’s progression guide for the mode distinction.
Which melee weapon is quickest to finish?
The available challenge requirements do not establish a universally fastest weapon: they list objectives, not controlled completion-time results. The best fit depends on which actions you can complete reliably—such as maintaining a Combat Specialty, earning no-damage kills, or completing five-kill matches. Compare the requirements in the table and track progress against the weapon’s live in-game challenges.

Why the list may change
The list is a Season 5 snapshot from Dot Esports, not a promise that the current arsenal is fixed. Activision’s Season 02 notes identify Bo Staff, Katanas, Sai, and Nunchaku among the melee weapons made available through the Armory at Season 02 Reloaded. Check the Camo Hub for later additions and current availability.
