Black Ops 6 Assault Rifle Camo Challenges: Progression, Launch Roster and Examples

There is no verified, complete current list of every Black Ops 6 Assault Rifle camo challenge in the available sources. Activision documents the camo progression system and the seven launch Assault Rifles; published challenge guides supply useful examples, but not an exhaustive, current matrix. Use the in-game camo menu for the exact challenge requirements on each rifle and mode.

How Assault Rifle camo progression works

Camos are earned separately for each weapon, and weapon leveling is not required. Activision describes the system as accessible as soon as you obtain a weapon: “Unlocking Weapon Camos in Black Ops 6 is accessible from the moment you get your hands on a weapon; no Weapon Leveling required.” Activision Support’s progression overview sets out three stages:

1. Military: Each weapon has nine sequential Military camos. Earn them individually for that weapon through milestones in the relevant mode.
2. Special: Each weapon has two mode-specific Special camos with individual criteria. Once the Special category is available, the two challenges can be completed in either order. A Special camo can be used on another weapon after that weapon reaches its Special category.
3. Mastery: Each weapon has four mode-specific Mastery camos. These unlock individually; earning a rifle’s Mastery camo does not unlock it for the other rifles.

Some earned camo categories can be used across modes under the conditions described by Activision, but the Mastery challenges remain tied to individual weapons.

Mastery camo names by mode

For Multiplayer, Activision says earning Gold on seven Assault Rifles opens the Diamond challenges for those weapons. Requirements for higher tiers depend on the mode and its designated weapon counts; check the current in-game challenge text rather than assuming the same count applies across modes. Call of Duty’s progression overview explains the official example.

Assault Rifles in the official launch roster

The official launch roster lists seven Assault Rifles and their initial player-level unlocks. These are launch-era details, not a complete roster of every rifle added to the game since launch. Call of Duty’s launch weapons overview provides the list.

The following are examples reported by third-party guides, not a complete or independently verified list of current challenges. Names and requirements can depend on the game update; confirm the live wording and counts in the camo menu for the weapon and mode you are playing.

• XM4 — Muddled: 30 kills shortly after sprinting. GameSpot’s Black Ops 6 camo guide lists this challenge.
• GPR 91 — Ambush: 30 kills shortly after sprinting, according to the same guide.
• AS VAL — Crimson Steppes: 50 kills while Recon Combat Specialty is active, according to the same guide.

Zombies examples

• XM4 — Liquify: 300 eliminations with Napalm Burst equipped. GameSpot’s Zombies camo guide lists this requirement.
• AK-74 — Chlorine: Get five critical kills rapidly, 15 times, according to the same guide.
• Model L — Ghost Blossom: 75 armored Zombie kills, according to the same guide.

Warzone examples

• AK-74 — Sea Foam: Get two kills in 30 seconds, five times. GameSpot’s Warzone camo guide lists this challenge.
• GPR 91 — Tropic Terror: Get five kills after sprinting, according to the same guide.
• AS VAL — Quail: Get five kills after reloading, according to the same guide.

How to find the exact challenge for your rifle

1. Open the weapon’s camo progression in the mode you want to play: Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone.
2. Select the Assault Rifle and inspect its current category—Military, Special, or Mastery. Challenge requirements differ by mode and weapon.
3. Read the in-game challenge description and track its action, equipment or enemy requirement, and repetition count. Use that text as the authority if a guide uses different wording or reflects an older update.
4. For a post-launch rifle, check its own camo screen rather than assuming it follows the launch roster or another weapon’s challenge list.

Activision’s official material establishes the progression structure and launch roster, while the cited guides cover only selected examples. It does not provide a complete current challenge table for every Assault Rifle across all supported modes.
