When did Double XP and Prop Hunt come to Black Ops 6?
Kakuchopurei reported on November 27, 2024, that a five-day Double XP event began at 9 a.m. PT that day and ran through December 2. The report described Double XP for Battle Pass, Weapon, and general XP, along with Double GobbleGums and Prop Hunt’s return. This schedule and event scope come from contemporaneous secondary coverage; an official Activision announcement confirming those specific dates was not found.

What was Prop Hunt?
Prop Hunt is a Black Ops multiplayer hide-and-seek mode: one side disguises itself as objects in the map while the other searches for the players. Its inclusion in the late-November event was reported alongside the Double XP promotion. Activision’s Season 01 patch notes also document Prop Hunt, but the notes’ XP-rate change was later and distinct from the reported event.
How the XP details differ
- Reported Double XP event: Kakuchopurei’s November 27, 2024 report gave the November 27–December 2 schedule and listed the XP categories included in the promotion.
- Prop Hunt XP earn rate: Activision’s December 12, 2024 Season 01 notes say the mode’s XP earn rates were increased. That was a separate change, not confirmation of the November event dates or a continuing Double XP rate.
- XP tokens: Tokens are a separate game mechanic. Their existence does not establish that the limited 2024 event or its playlist is active now.
Activision’s October 7, 2025 Season 06 announcement mentions Double XP tokens and a zombie ability inspired by Prop Hunt; it does not say that the November 2024 playlist event returned.
