The limited-time free-access period for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ran from October 28 through November 3, 2025, and has ended. Xbox’s official listing said the offer included Multiplayer and Zombies—not the Campaign or the complete game. Black Ops 7 has since launched: Activision lists its release date as November 14, 2025.
When was the Black Ops 6 free trial?
The free-access window ran October 28–November 3, 2025. Xbox described it as a limited-time offer: “For a limited time from October 28th to November 3rd, play Multiplayer and Zombies in Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 for FREE*.” The dates are historical; this offer is no longer open.
What could players access for free?
The official Xbox listing identifies two included modes: Multiplayer and Zombies. It does not say that Campaign or the full game was free, so the offer should not be described as a complete-game giveaway.
Multiplayer and Zombies during The Haunting
TechRadar’s contemporaneous coverage reported that the trial overlapped with The Haunting event. It described access to a selection of Multiplayer maps and modes, including the new Rig map and Boo-Town variant, as well as Slasher Deathmatch and Haunted Havoc. The report also covered Zombies maps available during the event. Those details describe the 2025 event window, not what is available now.

- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
Is Black Ops 6 free to play now?
Not through the October–November 2025 free-access offer; that period has ended. Activision’s general game page lists several ways to access the game, including Game Pass, but that listing alone does not establish current catalog availability, plan eligibility, or access in a particular region. Check the current listing for your platform before deciding whether you need to buy the game or have another form of access.
Which platforms are listed for Black Ops 6?
Activision lists Black Ops 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Microsoft PC Store, Steam, Battle.net, and Game Pass. This is the game’s general platform listing; it does not establish that the 2025 free-access offer was available on every platform or that access is currently included with Game Pass.
