Activision described it as the concluding chapter of the Black Ops 6 Zombies narrative. It launched with Season 05 on August 7, 2025.
When did Reckoning launch?
Activision scheduled Season 05, including Reckoning, for August 7, 2025, at 9 a.m. Pacific. The date is a past launch schedule, not an upcoming release. Activision’s Season 05 announcement listed Reckoning among the season’s launch content.

Where is the map set?
Reckoning takes place in Project Janus Headquarters, a complex of three Janus Towers overlooking Liberty Falls. The towers are critically damaged, and restoring the Aether Reactors is part of the opening objective. Activision’s overview describes a route through a debris-strewn lobby, laboratories, research and computing areas, offices, and secret chambers.
What happens in Reckoning?
The assault on Janus Towers continues the conflict involving Richtofen and S.A.M. Activision framed the map as a turning point in that long-running struggle and the last chapter of the Black Ops 6 Zombies narrative—not the final Zombies map in the Call of Duty franchise.

No. Reckoning’s Main Quest and quest rewards were announced for the Season 05 launch, while Directed Mode was planned for mid-season. Activision later included Reckoning Directed Mode in the Season 05 Reloaded update, dated September 4, 2025. Directed Mode displays objectives to guide players through the Main Quest. The Season 05 Reloaded announcement confirms its inclusion.
