Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 02 launched January 28, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT. Activision’s season overview promised five Multiplayer maps across the season, more than six new weapons, the Zombies map The Tomb, and seasonal Battle Pass rewards. Season 02 is over; the dates, trial and prices below describe the 2025 announcements, not offers available today.
When did Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 release?
Call of Duty Staff announced on January 22, 2025, that Season 02 would begin across platforms on Tuesday, January 28, at 9 a.m. PT. The season covered Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies as well as Warzone. Read Activision’s Season 02 overview.

What was new in Season 02?
Multiplayer: five maps and new modes
The January overview listed five maps arriving across the season: Bounty, Dealership and the Lifeline Strike map at launch, followed later by the Bullet Strike map and the return of Grind. It also highlighted Overdrive and Gun Game, plus limited-time Valentine’s Day modes Third Wheel Gunfight and Couples Dance Off.

Overdrive was described in the free-trial announcement as a Team Deathmatch variant: eliminations earn stars, which unlock temporary Operator abilities. Season 02 also introduced the Slipstream Perk and War Machine Scorestreak; Hunter’s Instinct and the Flyswatter Wildcard were announced for later in the season.
Zombies: The Tomb
The headline Zombies addition was The Tomb, a cursed excavation site and catacombs tied to the story after Citadelle des Morts. Other announced additions included the Death Perception Perk, the Shock Mimic enemy, the Staff of Ice Wonder Weapon, Aetheric Lanterns, an Arrow Trap and three GobbleGums. Quality-of-life additions included co-op pause and challenge tracking.
During the February 6–10 free trial, Zombies players could also access Liberty Falls with Directed Mode. Activision said that mode marked objectives and capped rounds at 15; these details apply to that limited trial announcement.

Warzone: tuning and foundation work
Warzone Season 02 emphasized gameplay tuning, quality-of-life improvements and ongoing bug fixes rather than a new map announcement. Reactive Armor was announced for launch, Low Profile for mid-season, and Battle Royale Ranked Play was expected during the launch window. The overview said Area 99, Urzikstan and Rebirth Island, along with Battle Royale, Resurgence and Plunder, would be available. It also said some originally planned new content had been moved to make time for foundational improvements.
Call of Duty Staff summarized the priority this way: “Our priority is having the most solid foundation that Battle Royale can offer and are excited for players to see it all live.”
Weapons shared across the season
Activision announced more than six weapons across the season. Four named in the overview were the Cypher 091 assault rifle, PPSh-41 submachine gun, Feng 82 light machine gun and TR2 marksman rifle. Additional weapons and attachments were planned through in-game events and the mid-season update.

What was in the Season 02 Battle Pass?
Activision said the Season 02 Battle Pass contained over 110 pieces of unlockable content, excluding BlackCell. Nocturne led the pass. The overview listed three new base weapons, an Underbarrel Crossbow Attachment, Operator skins, weapon blueprints, Calling Cards, Finishing Moves, emotes and other rewards.

The listed prices and BlackCell contents are from the January 2025 announcement, not current pricing or availability. Activision said that players who bought the Battle Pass and later upgraded to BlackCell would receive 1,100 COD Points back. BlackCell was a separate offer rather than part of the Battle Pass’s over-110-piece count.
