OGHub’s Season 6 snapshot, updated September 12, 2026, puts 15 weapons in its “META ISSUE: PRIORITY” group. That is the closest thing to a current shortlist for high-round play, but it is a third-party ranking rather than an official Activision grade. Your best choice still depends on Pack-a-Punch upgrades, rarity, Ammo Mods, map access, unlock progress and whether you are chasing rounds or camos.
OGHub’s current Black Ops 6 Zombies tier list
OGHub uses its own labels instead of conventional S, A, B, C and D tiers. The categories below are a September 12, 2026 Season 6 snapshot and should be read as editorial recommendations, not measured damage rankings.

The counts describe how OGHub grouped its displayed arsenal, including later additions and melee weapons. They are not a performance statistic, damage test or official balance statement.
Priority weapons at a glance
- Assault rifles and LMGs: FFAR 1, AS Val, CR-56 AMAX, Feng 82, GPMG-7, PU-21 and XMG.
- Shotguns: Maelstrom and ASG-89.
- Handguns and compact weapons: Stryder .22, Grekhova, GS45, Sirin 9mm and Tanto .22.
- Marksman or sniper option: AMR Mod 4.
Class alone does not determine the result. A weapon’s Pack-a-Punch behavior, magazine, recoil, movement, Wall Buy access and unlock timing can matter more than its base category.

Why another tier list may disagree
Dot Esports’ list, last updated December 19, 2025, is an older editorial snapshot. Its S tier contains XM4, Akimbo GS45, ASG-89, C9, AK-74, GPMG-7 and XMG. Its A tier contains SVD, LW3A1 Frostline, PP-919, Model L, AEK-973, Tanto .22 and Marine SP.
Do not merge those labels with OGHub’s Season 6 categories into a fake consensus. The lists were made at different dates and weigh factors differently. Dot Esports explicitly considered early availability and Wall Buys, while OGHub’s later page reflects a broader, newer weapon pool.
How to choose the best gun for your goal
For high rounds and survival
- Start with a weapon that remains controllable while firing for long periods.
- Prioritise magazine capacity and sustained fire, then confirm that its Pack-a-Punch version gains useful ammunition or behavior.
- Check whether the map offers a convenient Wall Buy so a down does not leave you dependent on a Mystery Box.
- Build around movement and reload time: a theoretically powerful gun can be a poor choice if it repeatedly traps you in an animation.
For early-game progression
Use unlock timing and local Wall Buys as tie-breakers. An accessible XM4, for example, is more practical for a new player than a weapon that is stronger only after late progression. Dot Esports describes the XM4 as an early-access assault rifle with a large magazine, high fire rate and Wall Buy availability, with Pack-a-Punch supporting later-round use.

For camo challenges
Tier placement matters less than the challenge requirement. A lower-ranked weapon may still be the correct pick when you need kills with a specific class, attachment or damage type. Keep a reliable backup, use the map’s Wall Buy where possible, and treat the tier list as a survival aid rather than a rule.

Upgrade systems change weapon rankings
The official Zombies guide explains the in-match loop: weapons come from Wall Buys or randomized Mystery Boxes, rarity raises damage, Ammo Mods add special effects, and Pack-a-Punch substantially improves a weapon. Some Pack-a-Punch upgrades include hidden behavior changes or extra ammunition.
- Acquire the weapon: use a Wall Buy for predictable access or a Mystery Box for a random roll.
- Raise rarity: rarity upgrades increase damage and can change how quickly a weapon clears a crowd.
- Add an Ammo Mod: choose the effect that complements your enemy type and team role.
- Pack-a-Punch: test the upgraded magazine, firing behavior and ammunition before committing to a long run.
Because these systems are multiplicative in practice, a base-game ranking should never be treated as a fixed answer for every round or map.

Weapon examples that explain the differences
GS45 and the Akimbo “Sally & Forth” setup
Dot Esports identifies the Pack-a-Punched Akimbo GS45 as “Sally & Forth” and highlights its explosive damage. That power comes with a build requirement: PHD Flopper is vital because the explosions can otherwise punish the user. The guide also notes GS45 unlock and Akimbo-stock requirements, and that Wall Buy versions lack the Akimbo stock. Requirements and map availability can change with later updates, so verify the current in-game progression before planning around it.
ASG-89 automatic shotgun
Dot Esports describes the ASG-89 as a fully automatic shotgun that is strong early and can remain useful after Pack-a-Punch. Its 2025 guide lists Wall Buys on Liberty Falls and Terminus. Treat those locations and its performance as date-specific guidance, not a permanent guarantee for every later patch.

GPMG-7 sustained fire
Dot Esports praises the GPMG-7’s very large Pack-a-Punched ammunition capacity and discusses a Crossbar Underbarrel build. That is build advice from an editorial guide, not a controlled laboratory comparison. The weapon is most attractive when your squad can support its slower handling and you value continuous fire over sprint speed.

FFAR 1 and LC10 context
Activision’s Season 4 notes introduced the LC10 and FFAR 1 for Multiplayer and Zombies. The notes describe the LC10 as a full-auto SMG with good accuracy and range but moderate damage, and the FFAR 1 as a high-rate-of-fire assault rifle with strong close-range power and less predictable recoil at range. Those descriptions provide historical context; they do not establish either weapon’s current Season 6 tier by themselves.
Map, unlock and build checks before you commit
- Map: identify the Wall Buy route for your chosen weapon before starting a high-round attempt.
- Unlock: confirm the account level, stock or attachment requirement in the current game version.
- Pack-a-Punch: inspect the upgraded magazine and any altered firing or explosive behavior.
- Ammo: make sure your reserve ammunition and purchase route fit the length of the run.
- Movement: test sprint, aim and reload handling in a live horde rather than judging the menu statistics alone.
What this list can—and cannot—tell you
There is no official Black Ops 6 Zombies weapon tier list in the cited material, and no named controlled DPS, damage or round-survival test was provided. OGHub’s category counts are a snapshot of its editorial grouping; Dot Esports’ grades are an older comparison. Use the newer Priority group as a starting shortlist, then adjust for your map, unlock status, upgrades and objective.
