Black Ops 6 Season 3 introduced Shattered Veil, a Zombies map set inside and around Colton Hall, a mansion in the wooded hills above Liberty Falls. The March 27, 2025 announcement set its launch for April 2, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT; that date has passed. The map’s headline additions included the Elder Disciple and Toxic Zombies, the Ray Gun Mark II and its variants, and the returning Wunderwaffe DG-2.
What is the Shattered Veil map in Black Ops 6?
Shattered Veil is a Black Ops 6 Zombies map centered on Colton Hall and its grounds. The crew arrives carrying the Sentinel Artifact to meet S.A.M., with the story focused on uncovering the artifact’s mysteries and bringing back Agent Maxis. Blizzard News described the grounds as mist-laden and the mansion as comparable in size to Citadelle des Morts.

Activision billed the map as the next chapter in the Zombies narrative, where players would “confront a tyrant.” The announcement established the setting and story premise, but did not provide independent gameplay or difficulty testing.
What new enemies are in Shattered Veil?
Elder Disciple
The Elder Disciple floats, strengthens nearby zombies, and summons more undead. Its dark magic can also accelerate the evolution of its allies, including a basic zombie transforming into a Doppelghast or another form. The official guidance is to prioritize killing it before its group grows stronger and to keep clear of its close-range scream.

Toxic Zombies
Toxic Zombies appear in special rounds as a sickly yellow fog descends. These greenish, skeletal enemies sprint toward players and explode, leaving a damaging acid pool. The announcement advises listening for their shriek and stopping them before they get close.
Other undead
The map also features Project Janus scientists and military personnel turned into zombies. The Elder Disciple’s ability to speed up enemy evolution adds to the threat described in the announcement; no separate balance or difficulty assessment was published.
What Wonder Weapons are in Shattered Veil?
The map’s announced Wonder Weapons are the Ray Gun Mark II, available in three variants, and the returning Wunderwaffe DG-2. The announcement describes their functions but does not publish a tested comparison or rank one above the other.

Ray Gun Mark II variants
- W variant: Uses submachine-gun-like bullet patterns and has a chance to ignite enemies.
- P variant: Fires like a shotgun and may create a sigil. A player standing on the sigil receives temporary invulnerability.
- R variant: Discharges like a marksman rifle and may spread a plague infection that deals area damage.
Activision’s announcement redacted some acquisition details, so it does not establish how to unlock or obtain each weapon or variant.

What other Zombies additions were announced for Season 3?
Perks, GobbleGums, and support
- Double Tap: Returns as a Perk-a-Cola that increases weapon fire rate. Its Augments can increase firing speed further or add a chance to deal double damage. Shattered Veil has a Perk Machine; on The Tomb, Citadelle des Morts, Liberty Falls, and Terminus, the announcement says Double Tap is available through Der Wunderfizz.
- GobbleGums: Tactical Diffusion, Support Group, and Die Pitched were announced as Season 3 additions.
- Death Machine: A craftable support weapon requiring 1,750 Salvage at the crafting table after it is unlocked through the Black Ops Tribute Event.
Map equipment and collectibles
Shattered Veil includes a Microwave Trap costing 750 Essence, a Dark Aether Field Generator, and Audio Logs, Documents, and Artifacts to find.
Main Quest and rewards
The Main Quest was announced to go live with Shattered Veil. Its listed rewards were the “PhDeadly” Carver Operator Skin, an animated Calling Card, and 5,000 XP. Players who completed the quest before Directed Mode arrived were also eligible for a unique Calling Card variant. Directed Mode was planned for mid-season.

When did Shattered Veil launch?
Activision’s March 27, 2025 Season 3 announcement scheduled Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, Zombies, and general content for April 2, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT; Warzone content followed on April 3. The announcement also described a 24-hour free trial for Multiplayer and Zombies beginning with the season.
