Blizzard has announced Overwatch Rush, a mobile-first, top-down hero shooter set in the Overwatch universe. It is a new game, not a mobile port of the main Overwatch game. Current Google Play and Apple App Store listings describe solo play and 3v3 and 4v4 matches, but Blizzard has not announced a broad release date.
What is Overwatch Rush?
Overwatch Rush is a top-down hero shooter designed specifically for mobile devices. Blizzard announced it on February 24, 2026, and says it is an entirely new game rather than a port of the main Overwatch. A dedicated Blizzard team separate from Team 4 is developing it; Team 4 remains focused on the main game. Blizzard’s development update describes Rush as “an entirely new game – not a port – built specifically for mobile players.”
What can you do in Overwatch Rush?
The current Google Play listing and Apple App Store listing describe solo play and player-versus-player matches in 3v3 and 4v4 formats. Apple’s listing says battles last three to five minutes. Both storefronts mention hero abilities and customization; Google Play also lists collectible Mods and Talents. These are current store descriptions, and features may change during development.
Is Overwatch Rush available on iPhone and Android?
The game has listings on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, so it is being developed for Android and Apple mobile devices. Those listings do not establish a full worldwide launch: they still characterize Rush as in development or an early release, and availability may vary by region.
