Blade Runner is returning in 2027, but the announced project is not a confirmed video game. Alcon Entertainment describes it as a multisensory immersive experience, co-produced by Behaviour Interactive and PHI Studio, with an initial unveiling planned in several North American cities. The announcement gives no game platform, gameplay details or conventional video game release date.
What is the Blade Runner project announced for 2027?
Alcon Entertainment announced on May 11, 2026, that Behaviour Interactive and PHI Studio are co-producing a new Blade Runner experience in collaboration with Alcon, which holds the franchise’s intellectual-property rights. Alcon calls it both a “brand-new immersive experience” and a “multisensory experience.” The description points to a dystopian environment with visual and narrative elements, but does not specify exactly what visitors will do or how they will take part. The announcement presents the project as an extension of the Blade Runner universe, not as a newly named video game. Behaviour representatives said the project marks “a new chapter in Behaviour’s positioning beyond video games.” That comment helps explain why describing the announcement as a confirmed gaming genre switch goes beyond what has been disclosed: the format is immersive, while any gaming elements remain unspecified.
When and where will it open?
The initial unveiling is planned for several North American cities starting in 2027. Alcon has not named the cities, venues or an exact opening date, so the announcement does not yet establish where or when an individual visitor can attend.

How does it compare with earlier Blade Runner games?
The new project is distinct from earlier Blade Runner video games. Alcon’s official catalog describes the 1997 Westwood Studios game as a detective story starring Ray McCoy, with a nonlinear investigation, interactive environments and tools including ESPER photo analysis. The catalog names Westwood as developer and Alcon Interactive Group as publisher. Alcon’s catalog entry for the 1997 game

Alcon also described Blade Runner: Revelations as an “Adventure/Thriller VR gaming experience” for Google Daydream. Players take the role of Harper in a branching story involving investigation, interrogation and gunplay. That is a separate legacy VR game; its format and hardware do not establish what the 2027 experience will use. Alcon’s announcement of Blade Runner: Revelations
| Project | Format and interaction | Availability or equipment |
|---|---|---|
| 2027 Blade Runner experience | Announced as an immersive, multisensory experience; specific interactivity is not stated in Alcon’s May 11, 2026 announcement. | Initial unveiling planned in several North American cities starting in 2027; cities, venues, dates and equipment are not stated in the announcement. |
| Blade Runner (1997) | Detective game with Ray McCoy, a nonlinear investigation, interactive environments and ESPER photo analysis, according to Alcon’s catalog. | Alcon’s catalog lists Westwood Studios as developer and Alcon Interactive Group as publisher, and links to GOG to buy the game. |
| Blade Runner: Revelations | Adventure/thriller VR game with branching investigation, interrogation and gunplay, according to Alcon’s announcement. | Announced for Google Daydream; this is a legacy title, not the 2027 project. |
What the announcement leaves unanswered
- Whether the experience will include game-like interaction, and how much.
- Which cities and venues will host it, and on what dates.
- How long it will run, what tickets will cost and how they will be sold.
- Whether visitors will need or use any particular hardware, including VR equipment.
- Age guidance, accessibility details and practical visitor instructions.
Behaviour and PHI describe creative aims that include preserving the franchise’s aesthetic and philosophical character while welcoming fans and newcomers. Those are stated intentions, not confirmed visitor outcomes. Until Alcon publishes more specifics, it is accurate to call this a planned Blade Runner immersive experience—not a confirmed video game, VR title, escape room or other more specific attraction.
