To confirm a specific game’s removal date and whether it affects your platform, check the “Leaving” section in the latest dated Xbox Wire Game Pass update.
Check the Xbox catalog for games leaving soon
- Open the Xbox Game Pass games catalog.
- Select the Leaving soon collection. It is a rolling view of titles Xbox says are exiting the library in the next two weeks, not a calendar of every future departure.
- Look for the game and check the platform availability shown with it. If the title is not listed or the removal date is unclear, use the latest Xbox Wire update to confirm.
Confirm the removal date in Xbox Wire
Xbox Wire Game Pass updates are dated announcements. Open the newest update and find its “Leaving” section; it gives a calendar date and identifies platforms for the affected games. The catalog is useful for a fast near-term check, while the dated post is useful for confirming when a named game is scheduled to leave.

These are complementary checks: the catalog changes as the near-term list changes, while each Xbox Wire post remains a record of what was announced on its publication date. Do not treat an older post as the current list. Xbox has also noted edits to a coming-soon listing, so recheck the live catalog and latest update before relying on a date.
Check that the departure applies to your platform
Do not assume a game leaves on every platform just because it appears in a departure announcement. Read the platform label beside the game’s title and match it to the version you play. Xbox announcements can list different platform coverage for different games; for example, the September 15, 2026 update listed some departures for Cloud, Console, and PC, while Frostpunk 2 was listed for PC.

Why old departure lists can mislead
Removal announcements are dated snapshots, not a standing schedule. For example, Xbox Wire’s September 15, 2026 update named eight games leaving on September 30, 2026: Atomfall; Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light; Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition; Little Rocket Lab; Sifu; SOPA Tale of the Stolen Potato; Sworn; and Terminull Brigade. That list illustrates the format of an announcement; its dates are historical, not a current list of games leaving.
Earlier Xbox Wire posts announced departures for September 15, 2026, and July 31, 2026. Their dates show why it is safer to check the latest announcement than infer a removal date from a recycled list.

If you want to keep playing after a game leaves
Xbox departure notices may say you can buy a departing game to keep playing after it leaves Game Pass. Check the individual game’s store listing for current availability, platform, price, and any member offer. A discount is not guaranteed for every departing game: Xbox’s April 7, 2026 notice, for example, mentioned savings of up to 20% for members, but that historical offer should not be taken as a current or universal discount.
