The reveal came in a live-action teaser during the franchise’s 10th-anniversary stream, but it did not show gameplay or announce platforms or a release window.
What did Bloober Team reveal?
The countdown’s answer was Layers of Fear 3. Bloober Team presented the game during a special stream marking ten years since the original Layers of Fear. Its official announcement says the countdown ended on February 15, 2026; reports timestamped February 14 in Eastern time reflect the event’s timing across time zones, not a different reveal.
The teaser paired the new game’s logo with an enigmatic live-action sequence. It opens with William Blake’s poem “The Sick Rose.” The material was atmospheric rather than a gameplay demonstration: coverage by Game Informer and Gematsu noted that the reveal did not disclose gameplay, platforms, or a release date or window.
What the anniversary marks
Bloober Team’s franchise chronology lists the original Layers of Fear in 2016, Layers of Fear 2 in 2019, and a 2023 Layers of Fear release that combined earlier entries and downloadable content. The 2026 stream framed the announcement as a decade since the first game, rather than as a detailed retrospective of the series.
