Which version should you choose?
For the physical collectibles
The Collector’s Editions are built around a SteelBook, art book, and soundtrack, although Sony described the soundtrack as complete in the North American announcement and digital in the European one. The European Nightmare Edition is the documented choice for the Book Tin, notebook, quill and ink, and two in-game extras.

For The Old Hunters
The documented all-in-one physical release is the Game of the Year Edition. If buying a digital copy, use the current product listing to verify that The Old Hunters is included; the US store page’s visible description does not spell out the Complete Edition Bundle’s contents.
For a used collector’s copy
Official launch descriptions establish what was originally included, not what remains in a particular seller’s copy. Ask for clear photos and confirm the region and condition before paying. Check for the game, SteelBook, art book, and soundtrack format; for a Nightmare Edition, also check the Book Tin, notebook, quill-and-ink set, and any included extras. Do not treat a seller’s use of “complete” as proof.

- Bloodborne Game of The Year
- If Bloodborne needs to be summed up, then the prevalent themes would be: exploring the fearsome unknown, intense life-and-death battles, and a familiar yet uniquely new online experience
- From the makers of the infamous Souls series, From Software's PS4 exclusive will attempt to take the tried and tested formula of giving players a sense of achievement to the next stage - especially when Miyazaki, the original creator of the Souls series is back at the helm
- What is promised is a harrowing experience like no other, and fans of tension, discovery, and straight up fun will sure to be excited to play Bloodborne
- If you have played the previous Souls games, then this one is a definite must buy
Pre-order bonuses were separate offers
Sony’s European announcement described retailer-selected pre-order offers: Fedora and Bandages Messenger skins, and a Saw Cleaver SteelBook incentive. These were not listed as standard contents for every edition. Sony’s North American announcement separately said pre-orders at participating retailers or through PlayStation Store included an alternate Messenger skin; it did not identify that skin as a Collector’s Edition item. The $79.99 North American Collector’s Edition price and the €79.99 European Collector’s Edition and €119.99 Nightmare Edition RRPs are historical launch figures announced in 2014. They are not estimates of present-day value. Sony described the North American Collector’s Edition as available in limited quantities, but that announcement does not establish current scarcity or resale prices.
