When did the Blox Fruits Dragon Update arrive?
The two dates refer to different events. Gamer Robot published its official Dragon Update announcement on December 16, 2024. The community-maintained Update 24 history reports December 14, 2024 as the release date. The announcement date should not be mistaken for the reported in-game release date.
What did the December 2024 update add and change?
Gamer Robot’s Dragon Update announcement presents the release as a broad refresh, not just a Dragon Fruit redesign. Its listed changes include:
- Dragon Fruit variants: Dragon (East) and Dragon (West), along with Dragon skins and Chromatic skins.
- A new fruit: Gas Fruit.
- Fruit reworks: Blade Fruit and Diamond Fruit.
- Combat and guns: a new combat system incorporating the gun system, plus reworked guns.
- Visual and interface updates: refreshed ability visuals, HUD ability displays for PC and console, refreshed NPC visuals, and updated sword models.
- World updates: refreshed Hydra Island, Port Town, and Great Tree, plus an expansion to the Tiki area.
- Dragon movement: the announcement says players can ride on a Dragon’s back using the Strong Hair or Saddle ability.
Other changes reported in the Update 24 history
The community-maintained Update 24 history also lists the Draco race, the Prehistoric Island sea event, the Dragonheart sword, the Dragonstorm gun, and changes to Dragon Talon. These are details from the wiki’s update history, rather than items in the developer announcement’s feature list.

What changed in the Dragon rework?
The update introduced two named Dragon Fruit variants: East and West. Gamer Robot’s announcement also describes Dragon skins and Chromatic skins and says players can ride on a Dragon’s back through the Strong Hair or Saddle ability. The available announcement establishes the variants and these features, but does not provide a verified comparison of their strength, value, or current balance. It therefore does not support a recommendation that one variant is better.
What happened to players who already owned Dragon?
In a December 16, 2024 Dragon Tokens notice, Gamer Robot said previous Dragon owners would receive a reworked Dragon Fruit. The notice said permanent Dragon owners could choose East or West.

That notice describes the original compensation announcement, not necessarily the rules in effect today. The community-maintained Dragon history records later token changes, including a December 17 hotfix. Because those are subsequent historical developments, the original notice should not be treated as current redemption guidance. Check current official Blox Fruits channels for any present-day token or ownership rules.
