The Torch comes from the Cursed Captain, and the community wiki reports that you must be at least level 1,000 to have a chance at its drop. After V1, progression runs through the Alchemist’s Quest for V2, Arowe’s five-player task for V3, and the race-awakening route for V4.
What you need for Ghoul V1
- 100 Ectoplasm
- One Hellfire Torch
Take both items to Experimic to unlock Ghoul. The Blox Fruits Wiki’s Ghoul page and its Races page list these requirements. These are community references, not an official developer confirmation.
Get the Hellfire Torch first—or prepare before you hunt it
The community wiki identifies the Cursed Captain as the Hellfire Torch source and reports that players must be level 1,000 or higher to have a chance at the drop. It does not establish a dependable drop rate. The same reference says the Torch cannot be stored and is lost if you die or leave the game, so gather your Ectoplasm before attempting to obtain it and go to Experimic while the Torch is in your inventory. See the Cursed Captain community wiki entry for those reported drop details.
A secondary guide says Cursed Ship NPCs can drop Ectoplasm, but the available sources do not establish the best farming target or exact rates. Avoid planning around an unverified drop-rate estimate.

V3: Complete Arowe’s Ghoul task
Speak with Arowe and complete the Ghoul-specific task: defeat five players. Community references differ on details such as which defeats qualify, so the shared core requirement is the reliable point to plan around. The references do not support treating every PvP defeat as guaranteed progress.
V4: Meet the awakening prerequisites and complete the trial
The general Races page lists V3, defeating Rip_Indra and Dough King, and speaking with Sealed King as prerequisites to begin the race-awakening route. Ghoul-specific references then describe completing the Temple of Time puzzle and the Trial of Carnage. Those references do not provide a sufficiently verified step-by-step puzzle walkthrough, so check current in-game prompts and a patch-current walkthrough before attempting the puzzle.

What Ghoul is suited for
The community Ghoul entry characterizes the race around nighttime speed, life leech, mobility, and cooldown benefits. Taken together, those traits point toward sustained combat: movement helps you stay active, while life leech and cooldown utility support continued fighting. This is a descriptive summary of the community page, not an independently tested performance claim.
There is no substantiated basis here for calling Ghoul the best race. The available references do not provide a reliable quantitative comparison across races, and the value of a race depends on how you play and what content you prioritize. Consider Ghoul if its sustain and mobility-focused description fits your combat style; choose based on your own goals rather than a universal ranking.

What is confirmed—and what to treat cautiously
The broad unlock sequence is consistent across the cited community references: Experimic for V1, the Alchemist’s Quest for V2, Arowe’s five-player task for V3, and the Temple of Time and Trial of Carnage for V4. Precise ability values, drop probabilities, and some V3 kill-qualification details are not firmly established by official sources in the material available here. Because these mechanics can change, verify exact requirements in-game if a step does not register.
