The final running total is the number to select on the outer ring. The board’s numbers and colors can vary, so calculate the answer from the clues in front of you rather than entering a fixed code.
How the dartboard puzzle works
This is an arithmetic puzzle, not a test of dart-throwing skill. Each highlighted number is paired with a color that tells you what to do to your running total. PC Gamer explains that the colors indicate what to do with their adjacent numbers in its Blue Prince dartboard puzzle guide.

Read the board from the center outward. Use the innermost highlighted number as your starting value, then apply the operation attached to each subsequent number in the order it appears around the rings. Do not rearrange the operations using ordinary arithmetic precedence: perform them sequentially.
Color and symbol guide
| Clue | What to do |
|---|---|
| Blue | Add the highlighted number to the running total. |
| Yellow | Subtract the highlighted number from the running total. |
| Pink | Multiply the running total by the highlighted number. |
| Purple | Divide the running total by the highlighted number. |
| Square in the bullseye | Square the running total when you reach that modifier in the sequence. |
| Tilted diamond in the bullseye | Transpose the digits of the running total when you reach that modifier in the sequence. |
Calculate the answer in order
- Find the highlighted number closest to the bullseye and use it as the starting value.
- Move outward ring by ring, reading each highlighted number and its color.
- Apply the color’s operation to the running total immediately. If a bullseye modifier appears in the sequence, apply it at that point.
- Continue until you have used every clue, then select the resulting number on the outer number ring.
For example, PC Gamer walks through a sequence that starts at 0, adds 6, subtracts 3, multiplies by 5, and divides by 15. In order, that gives 1. GameSpew offers a separate example: start at 11, multiply by 3, then subtract 13, giving 20. These are examples of the method, not universal answers; your board may show different clues. What to do if the board is harder
The puzzle can become harder as you solve more boards. Later sequences may include bullseye modifiers and more involved arithmetic, so keep the center-out order visible as you calculate. A calculator can help with the arithmetic, but it is optional; the important part is applying each clue in sequence.
If you select the wrong number, the game sends you back to the first board, allowing another attempt. Re-read the current board and calculate its own sequence rather than carrying over an answer from a previous one.

What the puzzle rewards
Solving boards reveals a key reward. The guides report ordinary keys and, sometimes, special keys, but do not establish one fixed reward or a universal number of boards required. Repeated solves increase the puzzle’s difficulty, so expect the arithmetic to become less straightforward as you continue.
