To draft it, you must draft the Pool on the same day. The pumps operate as a pouring puzzle: each transfer runs until the receiving tank is full or its source is empty, so plan around available capacity before activating a pump.
How to draft the Pump Room
The Pump Room is Room 033, an Addition, and is not in the initial draft pool. Draft the Pool that day to make the Pump Room eligible to appear. Its placement is also constrained: check your rank, available doorways, and the Entrance Hall and Rank 1 corner restrictions before using a draft on it. The community-maintained Blue Prince Wiki room reference describes valid east- and west-side positions from Rank 2.

How the pumps and tanks work
The room has five pumps and three large tanks. Choose a water source, then set a pump to fill or drain a tank. The amount transferred is limited by the water available at the source and the receiving tank’s free capacity. A transfer cannot be stopped partway: it continues until the source is empty or the tank is full. You cannot transfer directly between two sources, but a tank can hold water temporarily and serve as an intermediate step.
Plan each transfer before you start
- Check the levels of the source and the tanks involved.
- Work out how much free capacity the receiving tank has and whether it can hold the amount you intend to move.
- If you need to move water between sources, reserve a tank as intermediate storage and plan both transfers.
- Activate the pump only when the resulting full-or-empty endpoint is useful for your goal.
Sources can generally be set to valid levels, but the Reservoir has an important exception: without the powered Reserve Tank, it cannot be reduced below level 2. The room reference describes the mechanics, but does not establish a guaranteed pump-by-pump sequence for reaching a particular target level. Treat each move as a capacity problem rather than assuming a fixed solution.

What carries over between days
Water-level changes persist between days. The selected source and the pump lever positions reset, however, so check and configure the controls again when you return. The community reference does not provide a target-specific sequence that can be presented as a guaranteed solution.
How to power the Pump Room and use the Reserve Tank
The Pump Room has ceiling ducts. Connect one of its doorways to a powered room such as the Boiler Room, or to another ducted room carrying steam power. Once powered, the room’s additional panel displays the Reserve Tank’s level and exposes its fill and drain controls for Tank 1. Those transfers also continue until the Reserve Tank or Tank 1 is full or empty.

The Reserve Tank adds five units of storage, according to the community-maintained Blue Prince Wiki Reserve Tank reference. That extra capacity can help manage transfers, and the reference identifies it as necessary to drain the Reservoir fully. If the aim is to lower the Reservoir below level 2 or empty it, make sure the room has steam power and account for the extra storage in your transfer plan.
What lowering water levels can reveal
Grounds fountain and the Well
At level 12, the Grounds fountain allows you to toss in a coin once per day. Lower the fountain below level 12 and part of its stone container disappears, revealing a staircase into the Well. Coins tossed into the fountain on earlier days can be collected in the fountain’s upper areas. These threshold and coin effects are described by the community-maintained Blue Prince Wiki Grounds reference.

The Pump Room’s display shows and controls water levels, but does not spell out every downstream effect. After changing a level, inspect the relevant location in-game rather than assuming the room’s panel explains what has changed.
Aquarium and Laundry Room
Community references also point to a connection between lowering Aquarium water and information associated with the Laundry Room, but do not establish a reliable threshold or explain the consequence in enough detail to give a safe step-by-step instruction. Check the locations in-game before relying on that interaction.

Choosing a water-management goal
- Reveal a water-dependent route or feature: Identify the location and its threshold, then plan the transfers around tank capacity.
- Change a source’s usable level: Calculate where its water can go before pumping; use a tank as temporary storage if you need to move water between sources.
- Drain the Reservoir completely: Power the Pump Room so the Reserve Tank’s extra five units of storage are available.
The room mechanics and thresholds above come from community-maintained Blue Prince Wiki references rather than official developer documentation. Use the in-game levels and visible results to confirm your particular setup; the references do not validate a universal sequence of pump actions for a chosen target.
