Blue Protocol is not still running as the original Bandai Namco game. Its Japanese service ended on January 18, 2025, and the planned Western release with Amazon Games was cancelled. The related world has since appeared in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, a separate MMORPG with different listed developers and publisher.
What happened to the original Blue Protocol?
Bandai Namco described the original Blue Protocol as an online action RPG for PC, developed by Project Sky Blue, a collaborative team at Bandai Namco Online and Bandai Namco Studios. Bandai Namco’s product page says the game was released in 2023 and distributed by Bandai Namco Online. Bandai Namco Studios’ product page records the original game’s identity and development background.

MMORPG.com’s shutdown report is a secondary report carrying the company statement.
The original’s official PlayStation Japan page also currently says the game cannot be purchased. That page is specific to the Japanese PlayStation listing, not a guarantee about every territory or platform. PlayStation Japan’s Blue Protocol page shows its present purchase status.
