Borderlands 4 Best Farming Locations and Bosses: Routes for Loot and the Convergence

Choose a Borderlands 4 farm by goal: repeat Splashzone or the Foundry Freaks for general loot, or target Bramblesong in Bittervein mine for the Convergence.

The best Borderlands 4 farm depends on what you want: repeat Splashzone or the Foundry Freaks for general loot, and target Bramblesong when you want the Convergence shotgun. No single route is established as the fastest for every build or goal, so use the farm that matches your target.

Which farm should you choose?

Farm Best for Access and route Key consideration
Splashzone Repeatable boss kills and general loot Coastal Bonescape; use the Big Encore machine outside the arena to respawn him. Nearby ammo vending machine makes selling unwanted gear convenient. The guide reports that respawn cost rises with level.
Foundry Freaks General loot from a multi-wave encounter; cash from selling drops Drill site in southern Idolator’s Noose, southwest of Fortress Indomita; activate Big Encore and clear the waves. Three armored bosses; the guide recommends corrosive damage. The longer encounter may suit players who prefer multiple enemies per reset.
Bramblesong The Convergence legendary shotgun Bittervein mine in northern Stoneblood Forest, Terminus Range, behind Substation Canonary. Dedicated item source according to PC Gamer; access to abandoned Auger mine activities requires completing Shadow of the Mountain.

These are source-described routes, not results from a controlled comparison. Your build, level, difficulty, and target can change which loop feels worthwhile.

How to farm Splashzone

  1. Travel to Splashzone’s arena in Coastal Bonescape.
  2. Use the Big Encore machine outside the arena and pay its respawn cost.
  3. Defeat Splashzone, collect the drops, and sell unwanted gear at the adjacent ammo vending machine.
  4. Repeat the respawn-and-kill loop if you are seeking general loot.

PlayBorderlands describes Splashzone as an early repeatable boss and notes that the Big Encore fee rises with level. Its guide also cautions that Splashzone’s damage pools can linger briefly after the fight, so avoid rushing into the arena immediately after a kill. These details are guide-reported mechanics, not an independently timed efficiency test.

How to farm the Foundry Freaks

  1. Go to the drill site in southern Idolator’s Noose, southwest of Fortress Indomita.
  2. Activate the Big Encore machine to start the repeatable encounter.
  3. Clear the waves, then defeat Frank the Furnace, Hank the Welder, and Sal the Engineer.
  4. Collect the loot, sell what you do not want, and activate the encounter again.

The three bosses are armored, so PlayBorderlands recommends corrosive damage. The route has more stages than a single-boss loop, but produces drops across the waves and final fight. The guide estimates more than $1,000,000 per clear at a relatively high level; treat that as its estimate, not a guaranteed payout or a verified average.

How to farm Bramblesong for the Convergence

  1. Progress into Terminus Range and complete the Shadow of the Mountain mission to access abandoned Auger mine activities, as described by PC Gamer.
  2. Reach Bittervein mine, in the northernmost part of Stoneblood Forest, behind Substation Canonary.
  3. Find and defeat Bramblesong, the dedicated source PC Gamer identifies for the Convergence legendary shotgun.
  4. Repeat the encounter while checking the drops for the shotgun and the roll you want.

Watch for sludge pools in Bramblesong’s arena. This is the most directly targeted route in this guide: if the Convergence is your goal, a dedicated source is more relevant than repeatedly clearing general-loot encounters.

What patches mean for farming

Gearbox’s March 5, 2026 update notes say it “Standardized dedicated loot reward chances across all bosses in the base game, Bounty Packs, and Invincible encounters.” The developer note says those categories now use the same dedicated-item drop rate, while Phosophene drop rates were unaffected. This is a dated change to dedicated loot chances; it does not establish that any one boss is the best overall farm.

Version 1.6 also says World Bosses would appear more often and World Events would have shorter waits. The notes describe weekly Big Encore Bosses as tougher variants with more rewarding loot pools, and Wildcard Missions as offering a guaranteed Legendary reward that can be earned repeatedly for a preferred roll. Both activities rotate, so check the current in-game activity rather than relying on the boss or mission names in an older update example.

Pick a farm by the item you need

  • For general repeatable boss loot: use Splashzone’s short boss loop.
  • For a multi-wave fight and several bosses per run: try the Foundry Freaks drill site, with corrosive damage for the armored bosses.
  • For the Convergence: target Bramblesong in Bittervein mine after meeting the access requirement.
  • For rotating activities: check the live Big Encore Boss and Wildcard Mission in-game; their rewards and featured encounters are not fixed.

The available route descriptions do not provide a complete item-to-boss loot table or controlled comparisons of clear times. Choose a dedicated source when you know the item you want; for unspecific loot, test the repeatable encounter that best fits your build and tolerance for its reset steps.
