For the PlayStation trophy list covered by PowerPyx, the toughest trophy is Gear Five!: reach Ultimate Vault Hunter level 5. It is primarily an endgame progression challenge, not a demand for flawless combat. Finish the campaign to unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, then complete the challenges for each rank. PowerPyx says every other trophy in its PlayStation roadmap can be earned on Easy difficulty.
That ranking is the guide’s assessment, not a universal difficulty measurement. Achievement lists and totals vary by platform and can change with later content, so check the current list for your storefront before assuming the same requirements apply.

What makes Gear Five! the hardest?
Gear Five! requires reaching Ultimate Vault Hunter level 5. Epic Games Store’s achievement catalog describes that objective, while PowerPyx’s PlayStation roadmap explains the route: complete the campaign, unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, and advance through its ranks by completing rank-specific challenges, including boss targets. The main hurdle is the endgame progression and its challenge checklist.
PowerPyx identifies Gear Five! as the exception to its Easy-difficulty advice for the PlayStation list. That does not establish that every platform’s achievement version has identical requirements. Read PowerPyx’s trophy roadmap and check your platform’s current list; Epic’s achievement catalog gives the objective for its storefront.

How to work toward Gear Five!
- Complete the campaign. This unlocks Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, which is required for the rank progression.
- Enter Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode and take on the rank-specific challenges. Advance through the ranks in order; PowerPyx notes that boss targets are part of the progression.
- Use ordinary play to build completion progress. The roadmap recommends doing side missions and discovering map areas as you go, working on a Gear or Manufacturer Challenge category during regular play, and keeping legendary gear for the trophy that requires gear in every slot.
Exploration can also help you encounter the three named world events in the roadmap—Goredello, Airship, and Creep Impact—and a randomly appearing World Boss. The guide advises watching for these while exploring rather than treating them as guaranteed encounters at a set location or time.
Which other trophies need special attention?
All Things Vend and Rift Incompatible
PowerPyx flags these two trophies as missable on the PlayStation list. Its stated recovery options are to start a new level-30 character in post-story mode or join a friend’s co-op session. If you are aiming for a clean run, note them before progressing past the relevant opportunities; if you miss them, the guide describes those routes to recover them.

Campaign, side content, exploration, and collection
The rest of the completion work is spread across story and side missions, activities, map discovery, collectibles, gear, contracts, events, and bosses. Epic’s catalog includes objectives such as completing all side missions and activities, finding map locations in specified regions, completing world events and boss groups, and finishing contracts. A Steam Community guide also groups achievements into quest, activity, endgame, loot, collectible, map, and miscellaneous categories; it is user-generated, and its author discloses no longer playing or owning DLC, so treat it as a secondary cross-check rather than the definitive requirements list.
Can you clean up trophies after the story?
Yes, according to PowerPyx: the roadmap says free-roam and mission replay remain available after the campaign. It also gives the level-30 post-story character and co-op options for recovering the two missables. This makes it practical to focus on campaign completion first and then revisit unfinished content, while keeping the missable warnings in mind.

How do achievement totals differ by platform?
At the time reviewed, Epic Games Store listed 63 achievements worth 2,180 XP in its Borderlands 4 catalog. That figure belongs to Epic’s storefront and should not be treated as a cross-platform total: other platforms use their own lists and scoring systems. Epic also displays player unlock percentages, but those are storefront-specific figures that change over time, not stable measures of how difficult an achievement is.
2K lists PC availability through Steam and the Epic Games Store, plus PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Physical console editions are available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with availability varying by region, according to the 2K FAQ. The official Borderlands 4 purchase page lists Standard, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe editions.
