Nightmare Conductor is a solo boss on floor 19 of Taedal’s Tower. The fight is a sequence of readable checks: block or parry the charged spell and blue orb, move clear of the red orbs, mitigate the arena-wide wave, and climb the platforms when the giant orb is charging.
Where to find Nightmare Conductor
Nightmare Conductor is the floor-19 boss in Taedal’s Tower, a solo challenge dungeon with 20 progressively harder boss floors. The floor-specific guide calls the stage “Reaching for Higher.” It lists completion of floor 18 and level 43 or higher as entry requirements, but those figures come from a dated secondary guide; check the current in-game floor entry if its requirements differ.
Do not mistake this encounter for Altar of Calanthia’s Nightmare difficulty. The official August 20, 2025 update describes a separate 12-player raid difficulty with increased boss stats and new mechanics, not Taedal’s Tower floor 19.
How to counter each attack
| Attack | What to watch for | Response |
|---|---|---|
| Spell beam or charged spell | A cast with a purple indicator signals the spell. The charged version can stun and deal damage. | Time a block or parry to the cue; a shield skill is also recommended. |
| Three orbs | The boss summons two red orbs and one blue orb, launching them at different times. Red impacts create damaging area effects; the blue orb targets you. | Move out of the red impact areas. Block or parry the blue orb when it comes at you. |
| Magical wave or shockwave | The wave covers the arena and cannot be evaded, according to the specialist guide. | Use a block skill or shield ability to mitigate damage rather than trying to run away. |
| Giant orb | The boss levitates and charges a large blue orb as platforms appear. | Jump up the platforms and reach the top in time. Reaching the top platform avoids the impact damage. |
Handling the giant-orb platform sequence
- Recognize the levitation and large blue-orb charge as the cue to move.
- Jump onto the platforms as they appear and keep ascending instead of staying in the arena.
- Reach the top platform before the orb hits; the specialist guide reports that this avoids the impact damage.
Reported floor rewards
A floor guide published November 1, 2024 reported these completion rewards. Treat them as historical figures, not confirmed current official drop data, and verify the reward display in game.
