What was the release date?
2K announced September 12, 2025, as the worldwide launch date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game is now available on those platforms. The Switch 2 release came later, on October 3, 2025. 2K’s launch announcement.
An earlier 2K announcement listed September 23, 2025, but that date was superseded by the launch-day announcement confirming availability on September 12. Earlier 2K announcement; launch-day announcement.
Why did PC and console players see different times?
PC Gamer reported a single global PC unlock at 9 a.m. Pacific Time on September 11. A simultaneous global release occurs at one instant, so players elsewhere see that instant at a different local hour—and, in some places, on a different calendar date. For consoles, the reported rule was midnight local time on September 12, with Los Angeles unlocking at 9 p.m. PT the prior evening. PC Gamer’s launch-time report.
