Who is C4SH in Borderlands 4?
C4SH is a CasinoBot, former casino dealer, and Vault Hunter. Gearbox’s official description says a high-stakes card game gave him a magical deck that imbues him with eldritch boons. That backstory makes risk and chance central to the character’s concept, while card-throwing supplies the striking visual hook.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford revealed C4SH at Tokyo Game Show 2025. PC Gamer reported that Pitchford said videos of his close-up magic served as animation reference for C4SH’s card handling; that reveal detail does not establish how his finished abilities work. PC Gamer’s reveal report and VICE’s coverage both capture the card-throwing comparison.
Why people call him “Robot Gambit”
The nickname comes from the resemblance between a character who throws playing cards and Marvel’s Gambit. It is a convenient comparison for the reveal image, not an official character identity, evidence of a Marvel tie-in, or proof that Gambit directly inspired C4SH. Gearbox’s description instead frames him through casino dealing, a magical deck, and eldritch boons.

When did C4SH release?
C4SH is already playable. Borderlands Support announced on March 26, 2026, that Story Pack 1, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, was live and that C4SH the Rogue could be played across Borderlands 4. The support update was updated April 21, 2026. Read the official update notes.
How to access C4SH
The official release update places C4SH in Story Pack 1; it does not describe a separately sold, character-only add-on. The pack requires the Borderlands 4 base game, can be purchased separately, and is included with Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition and the Vault Hunter Pack, according to Borderlands Support.

Story Pack 1 is larger than a character unlock: it also adds the Whispering Glacier zone, story and side missions, activities, collectibles, boss fights, gear, class mods, and cosmetics. Check the current listing for your platform and region before buying, since prices and present-day store availability are not established here. The official release update confirms that he is playable across the game; it does not, in the information cited here, provide enough kit detail to responsibly prescribe a build or compare his strength with the other Vault Hunters. Treat detailed ability claims from early reveal coverage as provisional unless supported by current in-game or official information.
