Bow and crossbow bases named in GGG’s item-filter announcement
Grinding Gear Games’ Third Edict Item Filter Information groups these names under separate item classes:

The announcement identifies the class of each listed name, but does not say these are all available bases. It therefore supports a short verified list, not a complete catalog of bows and crossbows in the current game.
Why base stats and modifiers need a patch date
GGG’s Content Update 0.4.0 patch notes show that bow bases and their properties can change. The notes revise physical and chaos damage values for Cultist, Adherent, and Fanatic Bows. They also raise Dualstring Bow’s attack speed to 1.15 attacks per second and change its implicit to a chance to fire an additional projectile. Twin Bow and Gemini Bow likewise move to 1.15 attacks per second and gain a projectile-chance implicit.

The same notes distinguish modifiers by weapon class: Haste essences apply attack-speed modifiers to both bows and crossbows, while Perfect Essence of Battle grants different skill-level values on bows and crossbows. These are patch-specific examples, not an exhaustive list of base or modifier changes.
Earlier, GGG’s Content Update 0.2.0 patch notes said the base damage of all crossbows was increased and that crossbows use two-handed versions of added-damage modifiers. Those notes also cover crossbow reload and skill changes, including Shard Scavenger and Siege Cascade. They describe changes made in that update; they do not establish a timeless strength comparison or a universal crossbow playstyle.

A named unique crossbow example
In its Skill Sound Design in Path of Exile 2 article, GGG identifies The Last Lament as a unique crossbow introduced in update 0.2.1. Its inherent skill, Compose Requiem, fires soul-like projectiles that explode on impact. This is one documented unique example, not a list of every unique crossbow.

Start with the specific item and the game version you are playing. Compare its damage, attack speed, implicit modifier, and applicable modifiers rather than assuming the class name alone determines performance. The cited official material establishes that these properties can change in patches, but it does not support ranking bows against crossbows or naming a universally best weapon. That decision requires current item and build information.
