Choose by your production chain and streaming workflow: BoxCast Spark suits setups that want an integrated BoxCast platform and options up to 4K60; Resi Mini is a compact, platform-dependent choice for streams up to 1080p60; Blackmagic Web Presenter HD is a more open SDI-to-RTMP/SRT option, while Web Presenter 4K is a separate model for Ultra HD. Check the exact variant, service costs, and destination requirements before buying.
At a glance: the practical differences
| Decision point | BoxCast Spark | Resi Mini | Blackmagic Web Presenter |
|---|---|---|---|

Which one should you choose?
Choose BoxCast Spark for a BoxCast-centered production
Spark makes sense when you want its touchscreen controls, network speed testing, live preview, automated scheduling, multistreaming, and microSD backup recording alongside BoxCast’s paid platform. It is a single-video-input encoder intended to sit downstream of production equipment such as a switcher, rather than replace a multi-camera production system. BoxCast says Spark can select a streaming resolution based on input and available bandwidth. For a 4K60 workflow, note the limitation: local recording and 4K60 streaming cannot run simultaneously, according to BoxCast Support’s June 17, 2026 article.
Choose Resi Mini when 1080p60 and Resi’s workflow fit
Mini is the straightforward candidate if your output target is 1080p60 or lower and you want Resi’s RSP and associated platform services. Select HDMI or SDI to match the output of the camera or switcher. The SDI model’s listed 10-bit 3G-SDI loop out and locking connections may matter in an installation where you need a loop-through signal. Do not treat an input connector as evidence of 4K streaming: Resi specifies Mini for up to 1080p60.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose Blackmagic Web Presenter HD for direct SDI-to-stream workflows
Web Presenter HD is a fit when your source is SDI and you want device-centered streaming using RTMP or SRT, or USB-C webcam output to a computer. Its monitoring outputs and built-in display support local confidence monitoring. It streams up to 1080p60; if you need Ultra HD, compare the distinct Web Presenter 4K model rather than assuming the HD unit has that capability.
Check the full signal path before ordering
- Identify the source output. Confirm whether the camera, switcher, or other production device supplies HDMI or SDI, and check the exact connector and signal format against the encoder variant. Spark’s HDMI and SDI models are different; Resi Mini is also offered in both; Web Presenter HD takes SDI.
- Set a realistic output target. Match resolution and frame rate to the encoder, the streaming destination, and the audience’s connection. Resi Mini and Web Presenter HD top out at 1080p60 in the cited specifications. Spark’s current support information covers modes through 2160p60, subject to available bandwidth and its 4K60 recording limitation.
- Plan audio routing. Verify that embedded audio from the switcher or camera is present and that levels are correct. Spark lists analog audio inputs and touchscreen audio adjustment. Resi lists two-channel embedded audio; its SDI model specifies two-channel, 24-bit, 48 kHz. Blackmagic’s cited page describes the device specifications; confirm your production’s audio routing before installation.
- Confirm network access and monitoring. Spark documents Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi. Blackmagic HD documents Ethernet and monitor outputs; its product description also documents phone tethering/mobile-data use. The Resi product page reviewed does not state Mini’s network-interface or onboard-display details, so confirm those with Resi for your installation rather than assuming a feature is present or absent.
- Map the platform workflow. Spark requires a paid BoxCast subscription. Resi Mini uses Resi RSP and Resi platform services. Web Presenter supports direct RTMP/SRT and USB webcam workflows; confirm that your chosen service accepts the protocol and settings you intend to use.
- Compare recurring and regional costs. Add required service plans, distribution features, installation, and any accessories to the device quote. The published figures above are manufacturer page prices accessed October 3, 2026; confirm current pricing and terms with the manufacturer before purchase.
What the published specifications do—and do not—establish
The manufacturers describe feature sets, but the cited sources do not establish independently tested failure rates, image-quality rankings, or a controlled reliability winner among these three devices. BoxCast and Resi make claims about their own platform features and resilience; treat those as vendor descriptions, not comparative test results. In particular, do not infer a universal bandwidth saving from HEVC: actual bandwidth and quality depend on settings, source material, destination support, and network conditions.

Older comparison material can also cause confusion: BoxCast’s 2024 comparison table listed Spark at 1080p60, while its current product information and June 2026 support article describe streaming modes through 2160p60. Likewise, Blackmagic distinguishes Web Presenter HD from Web Presenter 4K on its current technical page. Use the current model-specific specifications when planning a system.
