Short answer: Pickaxe Power is the damage dealt to an egg per swing, not a movement stat. The Pickaxe Shop is in the Safe Zone beside the Animal Merging machine, on the left side of spawn. Available sources do not establish a durability, repair, or player-trading system, so treat those mechanics as unverified in your server. Upgrade Power when egg breaking slows your route, Speed when guards or long escapes are the problem, and satchel capacity when carrying space fills first.
What the pickaxe actually does
In Break and Steal an Egg, an egg has a health value and your pickaxe removes part of that health with every swing. The relevant statistic is Pickaxe Power. A higher value normally means fewer swings, less time standing beside an egg, and a faster return to your base.

Power is not a movement multiplier. The game’s official description lists “Upgrade your speed and pickaxe” as separate progression choices, and a guide’s worked example makes the distinction clear: a 15-million-Power Hacker Pickaxe can break a 30-million-health egg in two hits, but it does not make the character run faster. Speed affects travel and escape; Power affects the egg’s health.

You can estimate the minimum swings for an egg with this simple rule:

swings = ceiling(egg health ÷ Pickaxe Power)
The result can vary if the live client applies rounding, protection, animation timing, or another hidden modifier. Use the formula as a planning aid, not as a guarantee for every egg.
Is there pickaxe durability or breakage?
No available official listing or guide publishes a durability meter, wear rate, repair price, maximum number of swings, or breakage condition. The documented number is Power per swing; there is no verified durability statistic to calculate.
That means two extreme claims are both unsafe: there is no evidence that a pickaxe definitely wears out, and no evidence that every pickaxe lasts forever. If you see a durability bar, a warning, or a repair button in your client, rely on that live interface and record the exact tool and server version. Until an official update or the client itself confirms a system, do not budget Cash for repairs and do not discard a tool because of an assumed lifespan.

Where to find the Pickaxe Shop
The shop is inside the Safe Zone, beside the Animal Merging machine on the left side of spawn. You buy tools with the game’s Cash currency, not a Roblox gift card or Robux, according to the published shop guide.

Buying and equipping a pickaxe
- Return to spawn and enter the Safe Zone.
- Move to the left side of the area and locate the Animal Merging machine.
- Open the Pickaxe Shop beside it.
- Select a tool whose displayed Cash price you can afford.
- Click the displayed price to purchase it.
- Use the equip control for the newly purchased tool before heading back to the egg area.
Check the shop’s live Power and price display immediately before buying. A dated fan-wiki list and a newer Games.GG list disagree on the upper end of progression, so an old screenshot can show a tool or value that is not currently offered on your server.
Which upgrade should you buy first?
Choose the upgrade that removes the step currently consuming the most time. There is no published return-on-investment formula, so this is a practical decision rule rather than a promise of a specific Cash-per-minute gain.

When Power is the right purchase
Buy Power when the pickaxe animation is the longest part of a successful run. Compare one egg type over several attempts, because a single critical hit or a different egg health value can make a test misleading. A useful practical target is to reduce the number of exposed swings enough that the shorter break time outweighs the Cash you could have spent on movement or capacity.

When Speed is the right purchase
Speed is the defensive choice when your run fails after the egg is already secured. If guards repeatedly catch you, or the route to your base takes longer than the break itself, a stronger pickaxe will not solve that failure. Test the same escape route after upgrading and keep the route consistent so you can tell whether movement, rather than luck, improved the outcome.

When capacity is the right purchase
Capacity matters only when storage is the limiting step. If you still have empty satchel space when guards catch you, buying more capacity delays the real solution. Conversely, if you return with room left because the satchel fills before you can reach another valuable egg, capacity can reduce unnecessary trips.
Published pickaxe values: why lists conflict
Two dated lists currently circulate, and they should not be merged as though they were one authoritative catalog. A fan-wiki snapshot published between September 28 and October 1, 2026 lists 18 tools and ends at Celestial. Games.GG’s guide, updated October 16, 2026, lists 20 tools and adds Sci Fi and Enchanted. It also gives Enchanted a higher Power and price than the fan-wiki’s top entry. The live shop in your server is the practical authority.

Prices use the abbreviations shown by the lists: K for thousand, M for million, B for billion, T for trillion, and Qa for quadrillion. Because the lists were captured on different dates and disagree in both count and top-tier values, verify the number shown by your shop UI before committing Cash.

- Write down your current tool, its displayed Power, and the egg type you intend to test.
- Break several eggs of that same type and count completed swings, not partial animation starts.
- Buy and equip the candidate tool only after confirming its live price and Power in the shop.
- Repeat the same egg test from a similar position and under similar server conditions.
- Compare the change in swings and total exposure time with the Cash you gave up.
- Keep Speed and capacity unchanged during this test; changing multiple upgrades at once hides which purchase helped.
If the displayed Power changes but swing counts do not, check that the new tool is equipped rather than merely purchased. Also allow for egg health differences, lag, interrupted animations, and server updates before concluding that a tool is malfunctioning.

Can you trade pickaxes or animals?
The official game listing and the guides covered here do not document a verified player-to-player trading menu, eligibility requirement, trade currency, or pickaxe-trade procedure. They likewise do not establish a supported way to exchange animals for pickaxes. Do not follow a claimed trade method that asks you to drop a tool, hand over account credentials, or pay outside the game’s interface.
For a definitive answer, inspect the current Roblox interface for a trade button and read an official developer announcement tied to the game’s current version. Until one of those confirms the mechanic, treat trade offers as unverified and keep valuable tools and animals in your own account.
Common mistakes and fixes
“I upgraded Power, but I still run slowly.”
That result is expected: Power changes egg damage, while Speed controls movement. Return to the upgrade area and compare the Speed option if escape time is the problem.
“The shop price is different from a video or wiki screenshot.”
Use the live shop’s displayed value. The dated lists conflict, and updates can change the catalog without preserving older prices.

“My egg took more hits than the formula predicted.”
Check the egg’s actual health, confirm the equipped tool, and repeat the test across multiple eggs. The ceiling calculation assumes the displayed Power is applied directly and does not account for hidden rounding or interruptions.
“Someone says my pickaxe is about to break.”
Look for an in-client durability meter or repair prompt. No published source establishes a wear system, so do not transfer the tool or spend currency based solely on a chat claim.
What the official game loop implies for progression
The official description frames the loop as breaking eggs to hatch rare animals, stealing them while escaping guards, placing them in your base to earn Cash, upgrading speed and pickaxe, and filling the Index. That sequence explains why no single upgrade dominates every account: Power improves the break step, Speed protects the escape step, and capacity changes how much you can carry before returning home.
