If your pickaxe is missing, will not equip, or seems unable to break an egg in Break and Steal an Egg, start in the Safe Zone: confirm you can afford the displayed row, buy it, equip it from your inventory, and test it on one reachable egg. Buying a row is not proof that the tool is active. If the egg opens but you cannot return the animal, the pickaxe is probably not the problem; improve Speed or Trails instead.
Use the correct sequence before diagnosing a bug
The normal PC loop has four separate actions. Mixing them up can make a working pickaxe look broken:

- Go to the Safe Zone and equip a pickaxe from the equipment or inventory interface.
- Travel to an egg and left-click it while the pickaxe is visibly active.
- After the egg breaks, press E to steal the animal.
- Run back to your base and place the animal there before guards catch you.
Movement uses W/A/S/D, Space jumps, and I and O zoom the camera. These controls are listed in the game’s current PC instructions. A pickaxe only affects the egg-breaking step; it does not automatically steal an animal, open a locked zone, or protect your escape.
Quick fix checklist for a missing or stuck pickaxe
1. Return to the Safe Zone
Do not troubleshoot from inside an egg area. Return to the Safe Zone, where the Pickaxe Shop is located. A current guide identifies the Animal Merging machine and the left side of spawn as useful landmarks. If your server’s layout differs, follow the live signs and labels rather than an old screenshot.

2. Check the live Cash total and purchase row
Read the Cash value shown in the shop and compare it with the exact price suffix on the row you want. A disabled button can simply mean that your balance is below the current requirement. If you earned Cash while the shop was open, close and reopen the panel so the displayed balance and button state refresh. Never assume that an older list or video still has the current price.
3. Buy, then equip explicitly
Selecting or purchasing a row does not necessarily make it active. After buying, open the inventory or equipment interface, select the new pickaxe, and check the active-item name or icon. Leave the Safe Zone only after the interface clearly shows that pickaxe as equipped. If the old pickaxe name remains active, the purchase succeeded but the equip step did not.
4. Test one reachable egg
Use one familiar, reachable egg instead of changing zones and targets at the same time. With the pickaxe visibly equipped, aim at the egg and left-click. A successful test is an egg that begins taking damage and eventually opens. If the egg does not react at all, return to the Safe Zone and repeat the equip check before buying another upgrade.

If the shop row, price, inventory list, or active name still looks wrong, leave and rejoin a server. Guides warn that shop placements and item lists can change after updates, so the current server display is the authority. Rejoining refreshes the live interface; it does not replace the need to equip the item afterward.
Find the stage that is actually failing
There are three different checkpoints in a run. Identify the first one that fails instead of upgrading every stat.

When Pickaxe Power is the bottleneck
If an egg takes a long time to open while your delivery route is otherwise reliable, inspect Pickaxe Power. The power value controls the egg-breaking stage. Re-equip the tool first, then compare the same egg before and after an upgrade. That controlled comparison tells you whether the new tool changed the problem.
When Speed or Trails are the bottleneck
If the egg opens normally but a guard catches you, improve Speed or Trails and study your route. Those upgrades govern movement, access to some areas, and the escape back to base. A stronger pickaxe will not make your character run faster or bypass a zone restriction.
When the zone itself is the bottleneck
If you cannot enter an area, read the live requirement and check your movement-related stats. Do not interpret a locked zone as evidence that your pickaxe is missing. Zone access and egg damage are separate systems.
Pickaxe Power reference ladder
A dated 2026 guide records the following Power values. Treat this as a reference to the progression order, not as a guarantee that every server currently shows the same rows.

The guide does not provide egg-health values or the game’s exact damage formula. Consequently, no responsible source can turn those Power numbers into a universal swing count or a guaranteed number of seconds saved. Server conditions, egg type, and future balance changes can alter the result. Use the same egg for a before-and-after test instead of expecting a precise timer.

What to do when the shop will not let you buy
The button is greyed out
- Read the price suffix on the exact row, including K, M, or B notation.
- Compare it with the Cash total currently displayed in the Safe Zone.
- Close and reopen the shop after earning more Cash.
- Rejoin if the displayed balance and button state disagree.
Do not rely on a remembered price from a previous update. Current shop rows can change, and a guide’s dated ladder does not establish today’s price.
The purchase appears to succeed but nothing changes
Open the inventory or equipment interface immediately. Confirm the new item’s name, select it, and look for the active indicator. Then test one egg. If the old tool remains active, the issue is equip state rather than purchase eligibility.
The row or item is absent
Check the live shop after rejoining. An update may have moved, renamed, reordered, or replaced rows. Use the current server interface as the source of truth and avoid buying a physical object or an unrelated digital item; neither can equip a Roblox tool in this experience.
What to do when the pickaxe will not break an egg
Confirm the tool is active, not merely owned
Ownership and equipment are separate checkpoints. Return to the Safe Zone, select the pickaxe in inventory, verify its active name, and only then travel to the egg. A character holding an old tool or no tool can produce the same symptom as insufficient Power.
Use a reachable, familiar target
Choose an egg you have successfully broken before. Stand close enough for the interaction to register, face it, and left-click. Testing a known target removes uncertainty about distance, zone access, and a newly introduced egg type.

Separate slow damage from no interaction
If the egg reacts but takes many hits, the tool may be working and simply underpowered for that target. Compare a stronger pickaxe on the same egg. If there is no reaction at all, repeat the equip and rejoin checks before spending Cash on a higher tier.
Do not use Speed as a substitute for Power
Speed can improve how quickly you reach an egg and how safely you leave, but it does not replace Pickaxe Power during the breaking interaction. Conversely, a high-Power pickaxe cannot solve a guard catching you on the return trip.
What to do when the animal is stolen but never reaches base
This symptom occurs after the pickaxe has already done its job. Once the egg opens, press E to steal the animal, then follow a route back to your base. If a guard catches you, review Speed, Trails, jumps, camera zoom, and route choice rather than replacing the pickaxe.
- Confirm that the animal is actually registered as stolen before running.
- Use W/A/S/D deliberately and save Space for obstacles or shortcuts.
- Use I and O to adjust the camera so guards and turns remain visible.
- Upgrade Speed or Trails when the egg opens consistently but the return fails.
A successful run ends only when the animal is placed in your base and begins contributing to your cash income. Opening an egg alone is not a completed delivery.

- Return to the Safe Zone and note the currently displayed Cash and active pickaxe name.
- Close the shop and inventory panels.
- Leave the server and join a fresh server.
- Open the Pickaxe Shop and read the live row labels and prices.
- Open inventory, select the owned pickaxe, and verify the active indicator.
- Test one reachable egg before attempting a long run.
Rejoining is an interface refresh, not a guarantee that a purchase will be refunded or that a changed row will return. Keep your decision based on what the new server displays.
Virtual tool limits: what cannot fix this problem
The pickaxe is an in-game virtual tool. The cited upgrade guidance states that the Cash purchase flow does not require a Roblox gift card or a Robux balance. A physical pickaxe replica, gaming accessory, printed guide, or other real-world object cannot be equipped by your Roblox character and cannot repair a stale shop panel. Spend in-game Cash through the live Pickaxe Shop, then equip the resulting virtual item.
Developer-side caveat for unusual equip behavior
Roblox Creator Hub documentation explains that Tools equip from a player’s Backpack and notes that anchored tool parts can make a character stick during equip. That is useful background when diagnosing a game’s implementation, but it does not prove that Break and Steal an Egg has that specific bug. Players should follow the Safe Zone, equip, test, and rejoin checklist first. If the live interface still fails after those steps, report the exact server behavior through the game’s current support or feedback channel, including whether the item is owned, which name is active, and whether the test egg reacts.

- Can you see the Pickaxe Shop in the Safe Zone? If not, return to spawn and use the live landmarks; do not diagnose an egg yet.
- Can you afford the exact displayed row? If not, earn more Cash. If yes but the button is inactive, refresh the panel or rejoin.
- Does inventory show the purchased pickaxe as active? If no, select it manually. If the item is missing, rejoin and inspect the live list.
- Does one familiar egg react to a left-click? If no, repeat the equip check and use a fresh server. If it reacts slowly, compare a higher-Power tool on that same egg.
- Does the animal reach your base? If no, work on Speed, Trails, and route execution; the pickaxe stage has already succeeded.
Common mistakes that waste Cash or time
- Leaving the Safe Zone immediately after purchase without checking the active item name.
- Comparing different eggs and assuming a different target proves an upgrade failed.
- Using a high-Power pickaxe to solve a guard or zone-access problem.
- Using Speed to solve an egg that is taking too many hits.
- Trusting an old screenshot for current shop placement, prices, or row names.
- Buying a physical product when the problem concerns a virtual Roblox inventory item.
How to report a persistent failure clearly
If the checklist does not restore the tool, record the facts that distinguish an ownership problem from an equip or interaction problem:
- The server’s current shop row name and displayed price.
- Your displayed Cash balance when the button was pressed.
- Whether the item appears in inventory and which item is marked active.
- Whether the same reachable egg reacts to a left-click.
- Whether the failure occurs before breaking, during the escape, or at zone entry.
- Whether leaving and rejoining changed the shop or inventory display.
This information is more useful to support than saying only that the pickaxe is “broken,” because each checkpoint uses a different system and may require a different fix.
